Between Merit and Luck [EN/PT]

Last week, I had the pleasure of being selected for my company's Muito Mais Award, an event that brings together the best employees from each team. Honestly, it came as a big surprise to me because I haven't completely mastered my role yet. This is the first job I've had where I feel insecure and don't feel entirely confident about what I'm doing. That doesn't mean my results are bad, though. After all, I wouldn't have been invited to this event if they were.

This event recognizes the best employees throughout the year, and I know I was selected partly because of my competence. Yes, that's undeniable, but also because two simply amazing people left my team, and I'm sure one of them would have been at this event. But anyway, whether by luck or bad luck, it was really interesting to be part of it. I also had the pleasure of becoming friends with two very important people within the company, something I could hardly have imagined. Even more unbelievable was the fact that I built those friendships by talking about football with them. It was an interesting day, with good food, and of course, I took the opportunity to get a hangover in the middle of a Wednesday. Not everything can be perfect, after all.

Na última semana, tive o prazer de ser selecionado para o Prêmio Muito Mais da minha empresa, uma festa que reúne os melhores colaboradores de cada equipe. Sinceramente, foi uma grande surpresa para mim, porque não domino totalmente a minha função. Esse é o primeiro emprego em que me sinto inseguro e não tenho total destreza sobre o que estou fazendo. Isso não significa que meus resultados sejam ruins, afinal, eu não estaria nessa festa se fossem.

Essa festa reúne os melhores colaboradores ao longo do ano, e sei que fui selecionado, em parte, pela minha competência. Sim, isso é inegável, mas também porque duas pessoas que eram simplesmente incríveis saíram da minha equipe, e tenho certeza de que uma delas estaria nessa festa. Mas, enfim, por sorte ou azar, foi muito interessante poder participar desse evento. Além disso, tive o prazer de fazer amizade com duas pessoas muito importantes dentro da empresa, algo que seria praticamente inimaginável para mim. Mais inimaginável ainda foi construir essa amizade conversando sobre futebol com eles. Foi um dia interessante, com comida boa e, claro, aproveitei para ficar de ressaca em plena quarta-feira. Nem tudo são flores, afinal.
