My Theory of True Health

I have an interesting theory that I like to call the The Theory of True Health. It is a theory I've come up with after all my years of living this life, listening to my body and light experiments/experiences.

I'm going to explain this theory, talk about all the ways I've seen it play out in my life, and why I think I'm up to something here. It is nothing extreme, so there's no need for a disclaimer, however I'll still give that disclaimer and tell you that this is for information purposes only. Contact your doctor before you do anything big and related to health.

First of All Listen to Your Body

This is the very first thing about this theory. The theory says that more often than not your body knows what you need. Emphasis on the word NEED. Need and not want. Your body knows it usually and tells you through cravings and longings.

If you study animals you'll find so many cases where the foods they seek out when they're sick usually turn out to be medicine for that particular sickness after checks by scientists. So how did the animal know that?

Clearly not by being told by another medically knowledgeable animal or anything like that, but by the simple mechanism of cravings. Clearly the body saw what was wrong and told them by craving those particular foods and because animals are better at listening to their bodies than we are they hear better and seek out those foods.

So, always listen to your body and take your cravings seriously. Especially your healthy cravings, and know where to draw the line.

I've been quite like this since I was a child. Before I ever knew coffee was a brain stimulant I always took it when I'm down and feel like being active. How did I know?

Well, coffee is quite strong, so probably easier for your body to notice and crave. But this is not all.

I also found myself craving yoghurt anytime I feel some type of way in my stomach, and after the yoghurt I always feel great. Only to grow up and find out from articles that yoghurts were good for gastric problems. How did I know when I was a child?

There's also one period when I was sick and my parents were about to take me to a Clinic, I told them that I want to take a bottle of coke first. After that bottle of coke, I was good! Sickness gone, liveliness back. We didn't carry out a test but all the time I think about it as an adult I come to the conclusion that it must've been some mild case of low blood sugar or something. Because as an adult a test has revealed in the past that I'm at risk of that. A doctor warned me about it.

So, how did I know as a child?

Balance

Another part of this theory is: Balance. Always strive for balance and chances are you would be okay for the rest of your life. Balance in everything. In things like:

Sleep, food, processed food, non-processed food (yes, even healthy foods need to be eaten in balance), exercise, rest, seclusion, socialization, sobriety, intoxication, etc.

I'll let the big dawg Bryan Johnson tell you:

So, everything has to be in balance. Too much of what you've been told is good would mess you up. Too much exercise, rest, healthy foods, etc.

If you can balance out everything in your life, chances are you'll be fine and happier. You should look into every aspect of your life and try to make sure you're not doing any one thing too much or too less.

I don't think your theory is just a theory after all... Truthfully I feel health should always be prioritised...
Treat your body with love, and it'll treat you nice In Return.
