Give Me Rainy Season Any Day And Any Time: LOH #312

(edited)

Hello ladies of hive!

I think this week's prompt came in timely. So I'll be answering this first prompt: Temperate parts of the world typically experience four "seasons" of the year — spring, summer, autumn, and winter. But some parts of the world have a "dry season," a "rainy season," or "seasons" where there are frequent storms, extreme cold, extreme heat, El Niño, Harmattan, and so forth. Which is the most difficult season of the year for you? Why is it difficult, and what do you do to make it bearable?

In the part of Nigeria I'm from, we mostly experience two main seasons, the rainy season; usually from April, depending on the year and ends around September. During this period, we tend to experience heavy rainfall with frequent thunderstorms and cold. October and November are the transition months, we tend to experience minimal rainfall. And then we have the dry season, from December to March, the season comes with high temperature and extreme heat.

Though we do experience harmattan for a week or two between December and January. That's the only time I get to enjoy the dry season, but I will have to moisturize my skin every now and then, it isn't a difficult task anyway.

That aside. The most difficult season of the year for me is dry season. It affects my body and mood in so many ways, apart from the dehydration, I also experience prickly heat rashes which makes me uncomfortable, Fan or Ac doesn't prevent it from happening, so Imagine having to live with it throughout the dry season. The rashes only disppears on it's own when the weather is cold.

To make the season bearable and also manage my skin condition, I make sure that I stay hydrated as much as possible. This means that I double my water intake, I do not drink room temperature water, and the fan in my room is always on, because I hate to be sweaty, and I also run a cold water bath many times even in the night as it affects my sleep too.

For me, it's the rainy season any day, any time. I prefer the cold that comes with rainy season, and if it's too cold? I put on my sweater, than the uneasiness and irritation that comes with dry season.

Thanks for reading my blog.

I live in an area where we do get four seasons however the summers can stretch to longer than normal as can the rainy season. It's almost like having 2 seasons within the 4, in a way.

I have to agree with you--I would much prefer cooler rainy weather than sweltering heat, and here, we get the humidity; not sure if your's is that way or dry heat. Regardless, I always say that you can put on much more clothing to keep warm than you can take off to keep cool!

Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day! !LADY

Me too, I always have problem with my skin during drying season, the prickly heat you mentioned is part of it, and always making me feel uncomfortable.

That’s why I prefer rainy season, because everywhere will be cool.
