This time better service at my Austrian Airlines (Lufthansa) flight to Varna. Was able to get a Schnitzel although pre-ordering did not work.
Bin jetzt nach Bulgarien (Varna) geflogen und diesmal wollte ich schon 4 Tage vor dem Abflug ein Schnitzel vorbestellen, um es dann sicher on Board zu bekommen. Bei Lufthansa/Austrian kann man Snacks in der Economy-Klasse schon vorher vorbestellen, um sie dann sicher im Flugzeugt zu bekommen, was aber leider die letzten Male wie berichtet dann trotz Vorbestellung nicht geklappt hat. Das wär ärgerlich.
Diesmal gab es ein anderes (technisches) Problem mit der Pre-Order-Website, man konnte nichts für den Flug vorbestellen, da die Option für den konkreten Flug disabled, gecancelt war.
Dachte schon es gibt auf dem Austrian-Flug in Economy überhaupt kein Service, aber habe dann trotzdem (das einzige) verfügbare Schnitzel bekommen, was eine positive Überraschung war. Und auch das Cabin Crew war diesmal sehr freundlich. Positive Experience. Auch in der Economy-Klasse.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Habt ihr schon mal einen Snack bei Lufthansa/Austrian vorbestellt? Hat das bei euch geklappt? Finde, wenn man einen Snack hat, vergeht die Flugzeit auch schneller, wie im Flug. Wörtlich.

I flew to Bulgaria (Varna) and this time I wanted to pre-order a schnitzel four days before departure to make sure I would get it on board. With Lufthansa/Austrian, you can pre-order snacks in the economy class to make sure you get them on the plane, but unfortunately, as reported, this didn't work out the last few times despite pre-ordering. That was annoying.
This time there was another (technical) problem with the pre-order website, you couldn't pre-order anything for the flight because the option for that specific flight was disabled, canceled.
I thought there would be no service at all on the Austrian flight in economy class, but then I got the (only) schnitzel available, which was a pleasant surprise. And the cabin crew was also very friendly this time. Positive experience. Even in economy class.
What do you think? Have you ever pre-ordered a snack with Lufthansa/Austrian? Did it work for you? I find that when you have a snack, the flight time goes by faster, as if in flight. Literally.
I have never pre-ordered snacks, but I am glad you were able to get the snack this time.
Goyslop! Würde ich nie essen, noch dazu aus so einem plastikbeschichteten Karton. Beim Flug letzte Woche wurde zuerst das überteuerte Angebot aus der "Melangerie" penetrant oft angeboten und dann, vor Ende des Fluges, um 3,5€ verscherbelt (aus "Nachhaltigkeitsgründen"). Nein, da bleibe ich standhaft und verzichte :)
Kann mich noch an die Zeiten erinnern, wo es bei Austrian Airlines sogar noch Metallbesteck im Flugzeug gab und auch in der Economy-Klasse ein Do&Co-Menü inklusive war.
Ja, lang ist es her, und die Ticketpreise waren damals auch nicht teurer, oder?

Glad to hear you had a smooth flight this time! Getting the schnitzel must have made the trip even better. Always nice when the crew is friendly and the service improves.
On board food doesn't really sound appealing to me. Except for transatlantic flights, but then it's included :)
I've been hearing of Lufthansa since I was born. I expect them to have outgrown such technical problems by now based on their many years of experience.
I don't see how one can order a simple thing as snacks without being served. That'll be very annoying.
Unfortunately, there is always a technical error. I hope the schnitzel tasted good. I personally try to avoid air travel. At the moment I have much more important things to do than go on vacation anyway. But I don't begrudge anyone a vacation! Have fun in Bulgaria!

Sure enough the nice service you were afforded, the snacks and the friendly treatment, will make you fly with them next time. The fact that you got it in the economy class makes it even better.
