Eine Studie der Bitcoin-Investment-Firma River ist zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass mittlerweile mehr Amerikaner Bitcoin besitzen als Gold, wobei hier auch die Definition eine Rolle spielt. Gold-Schmuck wird wahrscheinlich ausgenommen sein.
Noch eine interessante Zahl, River schätzt dass die Amerikaner 40% des gesamten Bitcoin-Bestandes halten, mehr als jedes andere Land.

A study by Bitcoin investment firm River has concluded that more Americans now own Bitcoin than gold, although the definition also plays a role here. Gold jewelry is likely to be excluded.
Another interesting figure: River estimates that Americans hold 40% of the total Bitcoin supply, more than any other country.
What do you think? Do you find the figures realistic? Are more Americans actually investing in Bitcoin than in gold in this day and age?
I see why this would be the case. It’s way easier to buy $20 of Bitcoin on an app than to go out and buy physical gold. Whole new generation of investors now.

Ich frage mich aufgrund welcher Daten sie das behaupten? Gibt es ein Gold-Register in den USA? Und Bitcoin-Adressen sind keinem Land zugeordnet.
Zahlen muss man mit Vorsicht genießen, laut River haben sie ältere Daten geschätzt und neuere on-chain Daten mit Chainalysis zugeordnet. Aber der Trend vor allem bei jüngeren Investoren könnte stimmen.
Aber wissenschaftlich ist diese Vorgangsweise nicht. Nach dem Motto: Welche Zahlen nehme ich am besten, die meine Ausgangsthese unterstützen? Wie in der Klima"wissenschaft".
Didnt know that, actually crazy to me. Always thought US was the land of people holding gold because of their liberty standing they get from the breastmilk. But then again, Bitcoin is said to be just a digital version of gold so might make a lot of sense 😅👊
Das wirklich zu ermitteln dürfte echt nicht einfach sein. Da würde mich die Herangehensweise interessieren.

I think it's a bit realistic, especially when it's considered that Americans are ranked among the highest in terms of purchasing power. This gap would probably increase over time, as more American people hold the digital gold instead of the physical one.
This is the success of digital currency. People are now taking all their money, all their holdings, into Bitcoin and will slowly sell gold now.
