Elon Musk hat einen Aufruf gestartet, Netflix zu kündigen wegen einer kontroversiellen animierten Serie für Kinder, die Trans-Identitäten beinhaltet. Könnte das das Ende der Wokeness bei Netflix bedeuten?
Die Stimmung scheint sich in den USA gedreht zu haben, noch vor ein paar Jahren, war in den USA Wokeness der wichtigste moralische Wert. Das scheint sich zumindest in den USA langsam zu drehen.
Fast jede Serie auf Netflix musste oft zwanghaft alle möglichen Minderheiten einbauen, zum Beispiel übergewichtige Menschen, Menschen mit unterschiedlichen sexuellen Orientierungen, Menschen mit Behinderungen und auch schwarz-afrikanische und latein-amerikanische Schauspieler mussten irgendwie repräsentiert und eingebaut werden. Und zwar in jede Serie.
Und genau das ist das Problem meiner Meinung nach. Nicht jeder möchte ständig mit den Problemen der realen Welt, mit den Problemen von Minderheiten konfrontiert werden. Diese dürfen den Zusehern jedenfalls nicht aufgezwungen werden. Sehnsucht nach einer heilen Welt. Und Serien erfüllen auch eine Vorbildfunktion.
Denke der aktuelle Vorfall, in dem Musk die animierte Kinder-Serie "Dead End: Paranormal Park" kritisiert, könnte vielleicht das Ende der Wokeness bei Netflix bedeuten.
Netflix sollte die Serien zumindest besser kennzeichnen, zum Beispiel nach sexuellen Orientierungen sortieren, damit die Zuseher wissen, was einem in den Serien erwartet und man dann selber entscheiden kann, was man anschauen möchte oder nicht.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Habt ihr Netflix abonniert bzw. gekündigt? Denkt ihr, dass die Wokeness bei Netflix mit der geänderten Stimmungslage in den USA enden könnte oder dass sie so weitermachen wie gehabt?

The mood seems to have shifted in the US. A few years ago, wokeness was the most important moral value in the US (and is still in the EU). That seems to be slowly changing, at least in the US.
Almost every series on Netflix often had to compulsively include all kinds of minorities, for example, overweight people, people with different sexual orientations, people with disabilities, and even Black African and Latin American actors had to be represented and included somehow. In every show.
And that is the problem in my opinion. Not everyone wants to be constantly confronted with the problems of the real world, with the problems of minorities. These topics should not be forced upon viewers, who are instead longing for an ideal world. And series also serve as role models.
I think the current incident in which Musk criticizes the animated children's series “Dead End: Paranormal Park” could perhaps mean the end of wokeness at Netflix.
Netflix should at least label its series better, for example, sorting them by sexual orientation, so that viewers know what to expect in the shows and can then decide for themselves what they want or do not want to watch.

Es stimmt wirklich, dass Netflix (bei Amazon ist es auch nicht besser, die anderen kenne ich nicht) Schwule (und ja, man darf sie so nennen, man muss nicht "Menschen mit unterschiedlichen sexuellen Orientierungen" sagen) nicht nur überall einbaut, sondenr auch permanent positiv darstellt, und Verbrecher dagegen gefühlt fast nie einer Minderheit angehören. Als ob Schwule und Transen (z.B. Squid Game) die besseren Menschen wären!
Es ist Teil der transhumanistischen Agenda, traditionelle Familien zu zerstören.
I don't have Netflix, but I think Elon Musk has better things to do. Some people are too busy at once.
Ich fand das teilweise auch etwas übertrieben. Aber ehrlich gesagt interessiert mich das auch weniger oder ich bewerte es für mich einfach anders. Mir ist es egal welche Orientierung der dargestellte Charakter hat, solange die Story stimmt.
I haven't subscribed there for a while, but I do think that they need to consider the content put on their platform. I think that who is in control seems to change over time, so it will just be a matter of time before some other series is canceled.
I doubt Netflix will drop woke content entirely since it’s part of their brand, but a clearer labeling could help. My personal opinion is people should just pick what they like instead of demanding every show fit their personal worldview

I applaud the call to cancel Netflix because of a controversial animated series for children. Because I think these can sometimes lead children in other directions or have an emotional impact on them and it can help divert children's minds, so I think Elon Musk's decision to back out of it is right.
I hope the change actually happens as kids don't need to be exposed to such at early age. It's almost like an indirect programing into their brains of an expected reality. I personally don't subscribe to Netflix, not much of a movie person, especially western ones, as of late.
There's nothing wrong in including normal minorities in Netflix series. However, I agree with Elon Musk in his stand because exposing kids to abnormal sexual orientations wouldn't be in their interest. It could send strange signals which are capable of transforming them into horrible human beings.

Ich hatte Netflix gekündigt aber wegen der Preiserhöhung, genau wie die anderen Dienste.
Wäre ja nun ein Grund der Aufruf von ihm wieder ein Account zu holen.
Vielleicht ist das einfach mal längst überfällig. Wieso müssen Serien denn fern jeglicher Realität immer sein?

Aner ünergewichtige Menschen zur Minderheit zu zählen, ich weiß nicht, gerade in Usa wohl eher nicht.
Wenn ich mir eine Serie angucke denke ich nicht über sowas nach, sondern schaue es mir einfach an. Wichtig ist, das es gut gemacht ist und stimmig.
Und es gibt sicherlich genug Serien und Filme wo nix oder fast nix davon überhaupt Thema drin ist.

'Paranormal Park' makes me think of Igor in Young Frankenstein who spoke of a brain he took as being from 'Abby Normal or something like that'.
.... in those times, when 'Abnormal' was not about total freaks in childrens shows. That movie is rated PG - and these are the reasons by Parents Guide (I think they are a bit over the top crazy themselves) which makes me wonder how they would view Paranormal Park and similar Woke stuff (it is not on their index).
