Do you like to?
I know I do and I did that recently so let's tuck in!
When we were down in Newcastle a couple of weeks ago, we had a shopping day in town and lunchtime arrived.
We had come out of a clothes shop and I was asking Mrs T where should we eat...
She tugged my arm, pointed and said "Weren't you meant to eat at one of those?"
Jollibee is a Filipino chain of fast food restaurants known for crispylicious, juicylicious Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti, and Yumburger...
I have heard and seen many Filipinos show their Jollibee food for years and have been itching to try it.
I found out there was one in Edinburgh, but tast time we were in Edinburgh something popped up and we couldn't get there.
So when Mrs T pointed out this Jollibee, then the time was now!
Like anywhere now, you had the big interactive screens to use and take your order.
That was quite a challenge working out which meal combo would be best...
In the end we were happy with our £21.48 order and pushed the Confirm Order button and then waited.
I stood like a numpty waiting for the food, whilst Mrs T sat a table.
Actually I checked out the history of Jollibee. Did you know it was founded in 1978 and has 12 restaurants in the UK and over 1600 worldwide...
Speaking of tables, I loved this table. Can you see what is under the glass?
It is the most beautiful woven fabric made by the Yakan Tennun Indegenous community from Basilan in the south of the Philippines.
I do love seeing culture and this really was awesome to see. They speak Yakan there so I wonder how many readers of this article know Yakan?
It was good to see a little plaque on the table so you could read about the Table.
It was then that our number was called and I brought the food back to our table.
I actually ordered pineapple juice and so was drinking it whilst taking this shot. Yep all that waiting had made me thirsty.
One big difference in KFC between the UK and the US was gravy. In the UK it was chips (fries) you got with your chicken, in America it was mashed potatoes and gravy which Mrs T loves. So when she saw her meal came with gravy as well as her chickenjoy she was well chuffed!
Speaking of ChickenJoy this wall plaque says it all. I know @asiaymalay asked me if I had tried it. Well this is it.
The batter was really lami to coin a bisayan word.
I have known about Jollibee from Filipino friends since long before I was involved on the readcash or Hive platforms so I was chuffed that I finally got to try it.
For me the big thing was to try the spaghetti. This was the ultimate baby food to me...
Yes it was sweet but the sauce, wowee it was fluffing delicious...
Mrs T in her sarcastic self asked if it was sweet like me 🤣
So there you go @lhes I finally tried the spaghetti you like, and it was mighty fine!
One thing I also really enjoyed was the ....
I opted for the Mango Pie, and boy oh boy it was fluffing masarap!
Most fast food joints are pretty bland inside but I enjoyed looking at the decor on the walls of this Jollibee...
I don't know if that is standard wall covering in all Jollibee restaurants?
It was fun to look at, certainly for the first time anyway!
What I can tell you though, the food like the sign below says , was ....
Yep, it gets a big thumbs up from me.
Next time we are in Edinburgh we shall make time to eat inside the Jollibee there which is on Princes Street.
A great lunch that I recommend anyone tries....
I hope you enjoyed my first encounter at Jollibee as much as we did!

You nail the word "lami" hahahah when did you learn speaking bisayan words? We have this famous line "Sa jollibee, bida ang saya 😂."
hehe lami, oo I have been speaking bisayan words for years na, pero I stopped learning!
Being curious I had to go to google .... and ....
Oh la la! Congratulations on your first Jollibee experience, Tito Ed. I'm glad you are giving it a thumbs up. Nice wall covers over there, quite informative. They are a bit different from what we have locally.
!LUV
Hehe salamuch CJ, I enjoyed it. The spaghetti, mango pie and pineapple juice were the best for me.
Yeah I liked the wall covers, but imagine they would not be in local restaurants...
I can feel your buzz of excitement from here! Those all look masarap! And maybe, I’ll try one someday. Hehehe
They were masarap 😎 and I know you would have enjoyed... One day you shall Deraa, one day you shall...
I've been eating jollibee for quite a long time, but I never notice any wall decor, I've been blur all these times.😛😁. Chicken joy is the one I liked the most😋😌.
Hehe well it did take some time before the order was ready, so I explored all the walls lol
Yeah I know chickenjoy is your favourite!
😁😁hehehe
Thank you for appreciating our beloved Jollibee. Ironically, the meals look bigger and yummier compared to the Jollibee here in the Philippines. 😂
I'm glad you enjoyed the fast food chain loved by millions of Filipinos. 💖
I have known about it for so long and have been meaning to try it so yes I am happy and glad that I did.
The size portions I think were normal for here, however I was pleasantly surprised at how big the spaghetti portion was!
Happy that you enjoyed it! I hope they also served other Filipino dishes there, especially the infamous 'lumpiang shanghai' and 'pancit palabok.
I am happy you finally tried and for drinks I would go for Pineapple juice too or coke float!
Spaghetti, fries and juicilicious chicken joy? What a perfect combo!!!
Hehe yes the spaghetti, well it was sweet but damn it was awesome. Mrs T had coke but for me yes the pineapple rocked!
Tried next time coke float 😁, and I don't like peach mango pie 😂
It always make me happy whenever a foreign people say good words about Jabee. Like, I can't help but to be proud of it, uwu. And so happy for you you get to try those. I love Jolibee Spaghetti and Chicken Joy, that's my favorite combo whenever I visit that fast food chain, ehe.
Ah yes Spaghetti and chicken joy is a great combination Ruffa. Be happy as it was fantastic and I will make a point of going again when I am in Edinburgh.
Jollibee is one of the most favorite fast food in the Philippines. Every influencer talks about this place, I guess your review crowns it all. The food looks yummy.
I wish we had one here in Nigeria, that would be years to come lol.
Oh am sure if there was one in Nigeria it would be sold out always! Thanks Meya it was a great place and the food was delicious.
Yeah 😊, we love food 😅
So happy knowing that you finally tasted one of the Filipino's favorite fast food chain. 🥰
hehe me too and I will be back again!
Wow, the Jolibee sure made my mouth water with it's interesting food display.
Ah yes it was mouth watering indeed!
Nice 😍👍
Looks like a great meal and place to eat. Seems you enjoyed yourselves too. Pilipino food is great, or at least what I have experienced has been great. A long time ago when I was in the military my wife learned to cook a couple dishes from our neighbor who was Philipino. I love them.
Yes I love pancit and other Filipino dishes, I think it is great to try new cuisines. That was cool that your wife learnt to cook some!
Yeah, pancit and lumpia is what she does.

Glad you have enjoyed your first Jolibee, Uncle Teng! I also like the spaghetti and the peach mango pie there.

That looks good! I do love Philippino food, never see a Jollibee before though. Glad you enjoyed, don't know if they are any here. I'll have to look!
Yeah it was good and well worth giving a shot if you find one. I see there are 31 one locations in California!
That Spaghetti ☺️☺️ It looks yummy, if I happen to visit this Restaurant I will be having burger and fries☺️☺️☺️
Hehe the spaghetti was yummy and I think tasted even better than it looked! Ah you and your burger and fries!C Chicken burger I would suggest ...
First, I must appreciate Jollibee for standing such taste of time. A bit of culture is also an extra fragrance to their business environment.
When Mr. Tengo says it's delicious, it is indeed. Have been hearing of Philippine food, hoping to one have a taste.
Yes I am not sure how much culture they have back home. It is good though to show your country's wares so to speak.
Yeah it was tasty and gets a big thumbs up from me.
What a nice fast food I never heard of it before, we don't have it in Italy.
Lami kaayo, di ba?
hehehe.
Nothing standard on the design of that resto. Well maybe they are promoting Filipino cultures in their branches outside the Philippines. Like that table with the FIlipino made fabric.
Just a little more history of this resto... Before it became Jollibbee, it was just an ice cream parlor. It also started just as McDonalds was about to have its first franchise in the Philippines.
Wait.. before I forget, I saw chicken burger on your table, did you try it? It's now my favorite sandwich!
Lastly, I think Jollibee should pay you for this review! Or at least send you a bucket meal. hehehe

It certainly seems to have made some noise in UK in recent years, including opening up in Leicester Square in London, you can't get more prime area than that. The pineapple drink is very tempting as is the peach and mango pie. Definitely will try them out if I go
Oh yes if you are near one, then they are worth a shot. The pineapple drink was so unusual byt extremely tasty as was the peach and mango pie.
