“Did you know our bodies are made of 60% water? And even a 2% drop in hydration can impact your focus? “ -fan fact.
Yet still most people go the whole day without taking a sip of water even after they eat. I was one the advocates of not drinking water on a regular. I was the ambassador of saying “oh, I’ve not taken water today”. Sadly, it became a routine thing for me and I could go the whole day or two without taking a single cup of water.
Wait, I had my reasons though. I just wasn’t tasty and it took a lot for me to drink water. For me, the dry seasons were the times I took in a lot of water and when I mean a lot it means just 2 to 3 glasses of water. Meanwhile it is advised that we take close to 8 glasses of water in a single day and even if you can do more then that’s good.
Sometimes you don’t need a skin care routine or 10 hours of sleep to look good. All you need is water. The thing is, health professionals are only inclined to talk about the importance of water intake to people only when they end up having a medical condition which could have been avoided simply by staying hydrated daily.
For people who live in countries which are mostly humid it becomes 10x more important to take in water often. For someone like me it has become 20x more important because I stay in the Northern part of the country so it’s mostly dry. This is where I also have a problem.
Since I didn’t grow up in this part of that country I am used to where I grew up which was mostly moist and filled with fresh air. This didn’t require that I take a lot of water but now that we are here it’s becoming more and more important everyday.
The benefits of taking water frequently are immense even though it can be a tough change to handle for some people in the beginning. For starters, you’ll realise that you’d have to urinate more than the usual. For me, I drink close to 2 glasses of water in 4 to 5 hours of my day.
This causes me to urinate about 2 to 3 times in an hour. Yes, at first it felt pretty uncomfortable for me but since I am mostly at home I don’t see a problem with it yet. Even if I was doing an office job it wouldn’t be very difficult for me to do as offices have washrooms which are easily accessible.
One other uncomfortable change is that you’ll mostly feel the edge to urinate even after you’ve used the washrooom. All this changes only occur for people who are just beginning to take water. But the situation where by you’ll unite close to 2 or 3 times in 5 hours won’t change. Infact the more water you take the likelihood of you using the washroom more.
But the good thing is you’ll realise that your urine will become clearer and less concentrated each time you urinate.
One advantage of taking water on a regular is that it helps the kidney function properly as well. If you take enough water it helps in preventing kidney stones cause the water dilutes the substances in urine which will otherwise cause kidney stones if you are not properly hydrated. It also helps in flushing out toxins from your kidneys as well. It also helps in preventing kidney infections as well.
Apart from the numerous advantages to your kidney, water also has benefits to your bowels. You’ll realise that when you use the washroom your bowels come out easily. Your bowels are not as hard as they were when you were not hydrated. Taking water also aids in digestion after you’ve eaten. It’s advised that an hour before eating you should drink water so it aids in digestion.
There you go, you’ve seen the huge advantages of staying hydrated. A glass of water today could help in preventing a life long challenging chronic illness. Stay hydrated and stay blessed.
Water as common or as little as it looks, could be the game changer in an illness. Sometimes the cause of an illness was just dehydration.
Imagine something as painful as kidney stones could be prevented by taking water. Thanks for sharing.
It looks so simple only after you’ve been affected and then you realise how adamant and stubborn you were. This days people are really making the conscious effort to educate us to drink more water cause of the dry season.
Yes it is amazing lol.
Staying hydrated is very crucial for our bodies. Early last year, I unconsciously stopped regular hydration and my body subtly paid the price for it, even without my knowledge.
It wasn't until after a conversation with an amazing Hiver that I realized what I was doing to myself and decided to take my hydration more seriously. Need I mention the improvements I have seen.

I was like that also until I started seeing these videos about the benefits of taking water and now I don't play with it.
