My Journey with Homesteading and Potatoes

From the first time I started thinking about the idea of "homesteading" or sustainable living, I wanted to live a simpler life and be able to grow my own things and depend on myself. I was very excited to start this journey, but the truth is that it is not as easy as I imagined, but at the same time it was full of fun and challenges.

The first step in my journey was to plant some plants in the small garden we have at home. I tried almost everything, from tomatoes and cucumbers to herbs like parsley. But the thing that caught my attention the most was pepper. I decided to plant hot peppers because I loved their taste in food, and I was excited to see them grow in front of me.

At first, it was a bit difficult. Peppers need special care: good watering, direct sunlight, and every now and then I need to follow up on their growth and remove any weeds around them. Over time, I started to see the flowers turn into fruits, and I had an unusual sense of pride.

Sometimes I faced problems with insects that also loved peppers, and this required me to use natural methods to stop them from eating the plant. That is, instead of using chemicals, I used a mixture of garlic and paprika to repel insects.

A few months later, I harvested my first pepper crop from my plantation. It was a very enjoyable feeling, seeing something you planted grow and bear fruit in front of you. The peppers were very hot, and I made some delicious dishes with them.

My journey with hosting and peppers taught me a lot. Not only about agriculture, but also about patience and perseverance, and how you can benefit from your natural resources in a simple and easy way. And every time I saw the peppers grow in front of me, I felt that it was part of the success I achieved on the path to a more sustainable life.

I need to make more research on how to use this because my plants are being disturbed by these insects too.
