The importance of hand work or a skill cannot be overemphasized, and it's something that's very very good, especially in a world like ours, it puts you out there and makes one open to various opportunities.

And unlike the digital work that most times keeps your gaze on the screen and leaves your thoughts scattered, handwork helps you slow down and help you take your time to think things through, to notice the details and such.
And in a country like ours, y'all will agree with me that handwork is also a means of survival, the economy of the nation is somehow and you can't even survive by depending on one source of income. If you're doing a white collar job, it's important that you also have an handwork with it, and even if you're into hand work, it's better you run another business with it or have two handwork.... Or more if possible.
Because having a skill puts you out there and makes you earn more and be able to at least survive in difficult times. And another thing about handwork in the independence it gives. You're in control of it, you work when you want to, you rest at will and you can decide to stop taking more work if you're getting choked.

I learned tiling at a time, but I had to stop it because its to demanding physically...I mean it's stressful and it requires strength which I couldn't give it anymore after healing from an illness that kept me bedridden for years. So, I was advised against it, and I had to let go and that was when I went into customization works, among frames, customized mugs and the likes.
And like I said earlier, the importance of handwork/handcraft cannot be overemphasized, it is a very strong foundation to build a brand, start a business and also to survive in today's world.
