Alone In A Deserted World

Humans are beautiful and interesting beings. Although they are filled with complexities, I guess that is still one of the reasons that make them interesting. It is like every human is a walking puzzle and to understand them, you need to study them. We see people every day; on the streets , in schools, churches, on the bus, and in every other place. We make friends with some of them, while others remain strangers forever. People bring joy into our lives. With friends around, we make good memories that we will remember for years to come. For example, I remember when my friend, Kingsley, and I got chased by a dog. This incident happened more than 7 years ago, and I still remember it today.

Although people are sweet and beautiful, they sometimes bring pain into our lives. I can’t count the number of times I have been betrayed and stabbed from the back by people; friends who I thought would have my back. There was a time when I got really hurt by people to the extent that I vowed not to make friends with anyone. I vowed to always stay in my own lane and not to let anyone get close to me. The first few months of trying this were okay, but with time, I realized that life with people is better than life without people. Before I knew it, I subconsciously opened my heart to making friends again, and that is when I realized that people are important in life.

Don’t quote me wrong. I’m not saying you should not set boundaries. I’m not of the school of thought that you should allow literally everyone into your life. Rather, I’m saying you shouldn’t shut your heart completely to making friends. Over the years, friends have helped me when I was at my lowest. Thanks to the love and kindness they showed me, I was able to achieve some things.

Now, here’s where things get interesting; what if you woke up one day and realized you were the last person on earth? Your friends, family and the strangers you see everyday on your way to work have completely vanished, leaving only you on earth. How long do you think you would survive? This prompt reminds me of an old movie I watched a long time ago; The Last Man on Earth.

My introverted mind is telling me that I can survive for long if I was the last person on earth. I can stay indoors for days as long as I have my cell phone, movies to watch and things to eat. I have stayed in my house for more than 2 weeks without stepping out of the house. I had no reason to. Whenever I needed something, all I had to do was place a call and boom, one of my cousins would bring it to me. However, if I was the last person on earth, that means there would be no one to chat with, no cousin to bring anything to me and I would be left to figure things out on my own.

I honestly don't know how long I'd survive alone. Definitely, I wouldn't even attempt to take my own life. But I guess the worst that could happen is losing touch with reality. When you don't have someone to talk to, you'll probably start wondering and thinking, and who knows what will happen from there?

Thanks for reading.

Hehe, I don't think the idea for me would be to survive becuase when there is nothing to look towards to, life becomes meaningless

Two weeks alone in the house 🏡 , I think this is where your survival confidence is coming from. You have been training yourself for the only man on earth 🌍

Honestly, having someone to talk is okay, because as you said you'll always wonder and think and gradually you'll loose yourself.

Having someone to talk to is great, when when you are an introvert, but when it keeps going on and on, you will probably loose yourself.

0.00000000 BEE

Honestly, you would.

If I'm the last person on Earth it will be so bothering and strange because no one to talk to and I will feel so lonely.

Let's hope it doesn't happen.

Wow, so being an introvert you'll take full advantage of it when you're the last human of earth 😹
