If I Had Another Me
I do not know if it is common around the world, but where I come from, there is always this popular saying, "God created us in twos." Well, I do not know how true that is, but I have seen some instances when someone approached me and asked if we have met before. I am always surprised at that, and the one that amazed me the most was when I was in NYSC camp. A guy came to me and said, "Are you not so and so from the University of Nsuka?" He even mentioned the department. I just smiled and said I had never been to that place he mentioned before. He was like, "We look so much alike.
But deep down, after he left, I told my guy that was beside me, What if what he said is true? What if there's someone exactly like me somewhere? Just what if?
Now, imagine one of the greatest scientists in the world approaching me and telling me , "Can we make a doppelganger of you, same behavior and everything? Would you like us to proceed?" To be sincere, fear struck my mind because my country is already filled with a lot of wahala from loads of bills to pay, a wobbling economy, and all, so I guess cloning me is just going to be another added drama.
But maybe let me be honest. Having a doppelganger looks tempting, as I have seen in movies, in a way that I will just send him to represent me in those church programs and family meetings where everyone expects me to be present to contribute money and add one or two, or send him out to the ATM stand to withdraw to avoid those long queues.
But the most dreadful aspect of this is what? What if he can do exactly the things I do, speak like me, reason like I do, and have human feelings that I have? Then what exactly is my uniqueness again? What if he overpowers all my existence and turns into a better version of me, taking my roles, knowing how to earn money, and even having the best of the dreams and goals?

After thinking about all these things I have said, I think it is just best that I don't have a clone. Life is not easy, but that is the struggle I must face because in the long run, not a perfect life without error shapes us, but the mistakes and the little wins here and there. And one thing I have realized is that it is better not to live a double life, but a real one.

But for me, I wouldn't mind if it ends up doing it more than I can as long as I the user isn't misusing it's primary clone purpose and I have absolute control over its existence

And that is where the little little problems comes in, not sharing the same consciousness will give a lot of loopholes that is going to affect the choices been made
Yep, I totally agree. A doppelganger will just be a lot of drama. And what if he goes to commit a crime? You will be the one to face the consequences.

It looks tempting for real, and it can be so good if I have total control of that clone, telling it what to do without it refusing but you made another point in your article, or more like a question

When you get a clone of yourself, after some time, trust me, you both won't have the same emotions again because you would have different experiences unless you want the clone to experience the same thing you do, which means going everywhere you go. Now imagine you fall in love with a lady and that same clone falls in love with her.
We all know how love and hate are two of the biggest emotions, followed by jealousy. Who knows what you would do to take away any competition from the road? Or even if your clone lets go, do you think you will forgive yourself for stealing your own girl?

Having a clone sounds really interesting, but then having it could have great disadvantage.
Yes, the disadvantages can supercede the advantages as times goes on especially if a third party is involved.
