Culture is the way of life of certain groups of people. This can be traced to our great grandparents who adopted certain kinds of practices to fit their beliefs. For some reasons those beliefs manifested to be true and it became a practice passed down to generations. For example, in my culture , a king's dead body is not supposed to be seen by women, if they do, calamity befalls that town. This belief is still in effect to this very age, and the calamity is sure to come, not minding if one believes in it or not.

The concept of culture started a long time ago with different perspectives on it, the religion and scientific explanation to its origin. The biblical view of it started from the tower of babel while scientifically, it is stated to begin with the early humans (homo sapiens) and the use of tools. But then, culture has evolved over the years with the introduction of modernization and religion. The Gbagyi people were majorly farmers and hunters , their cultural food known as Ezhe They once lived in huts with thatch roofs but that has changed. One unique thing about the Gbagyi tribe is how they carry loads, which are often on their shoulders. They believe the head is a crown and shouldn't be burdened with load.

When I was growing up, there's this practice I met when eating with elderly people. If there's meat, the younger ones pick first, and the eldest the last to pick. I don't know why it was done that way. That has changed, evolution and civilization has changed some practices. Even the way we dress and the style of our songs are gradually being replaced. Even though evolution has drifted from certain practices, the Igbo, Yoruba , and Hausa are three major languages whose cultural practices still remain strong and surface in most of their activities. Culture isn't just our way of life, culture is what defines us.
