Choosing A Niche On The Hive Blockchain
Introduction...
I remembered when I first joined Hive, I had plans of just writing fictional stories, some prompts in a few communities and so on but then it all changed when I started getting into the v-blog aspect of Hive, I saw a whole new world, hehe. Back then I remember writing almost every day and now I wonder where all of those ideas came from. One of the major things that kept me going then was the fact that a lot of persons engaged with my post and that made me want to do even better.
A glimpse of why I'm choosing a niche
In all my time of sharing blogs on hive, I've come to realize that I get more engagement on my music blogs and if you know me well I do love having comments on my blog because it's always fun giving a reply and it also shows that someone likes what I do. I do get comments on my other blogs too but then my video blogs wins that most times. I don't like to be picky about what I can and can't do but then if for any reason I was given the option of choosing just one niche in the Hive community to focus on, it has to be on creating video contents, not just any one but music videos.
I love singing a lot and sometimes I just wish to be sharing just music content with my followers but then I do love to spice things up a bit and also keep learning and that's why I love diversity, hehe. Due to my busy life in the past few months I've been unable to share as much contents as I would have loved to but then I do share music content once in a while because it feels a lot easier to do so but then my environment is not always so conducive for always creating video contents and that is one of my major setbacks.
It's almost not possible to choose a niche, why?
As for writing a content, it does require work too but not outside my power but then the ideas are hard to come by. There are days when I'm set out to create a video content but in the end I don't because of something which most times I don't even know what it was (village people dey follow me upandan 😂). While there are other days when I decide to just come on Hive and read from other writers and the ideas just come and I take less than 30 minutes to come up with something nice.
I do love engaging in contest and challenges as they help me think faster and better and that makes me appreciate a lot of communities here on hive because they've helped me to get better at what I do. The truth is, I prefer reading more from others than writing, I enjoy leaving a comment and getting a response back and keep the conversation going, that is more fun than writing at least for me but then I understand that it is also good to create a content that makes people engage too and I think making a music video content is the niche I will go for because it is easier for me to get ideas and also engagement.

hmmm... my journey has been different in my 4 plus years in Hive!!
I was a newbie to crypto, and I encoutered steemit... and hardly got engagement. I did not have a niche topic...
My crypto knowledge and experience was poor so those articles never toook off, but I got support from a community that helped me a lot. That was a period, I gained lots of knowledge on crypto and was growing and explaining things.
That was unbelievable because I am not really a finance or code person...
Then, my stories on cats took off big time in the @caturday community.
My cats were relatively new, as I got them on 2017 and another 2018... but life held lots of cat associations for me during a period and that took off...
Yes,,, I am ever passionate about cats...still never expected.
Then my travel writting got super engagement, and made me believe I really a versatile writter.
MY niche... is these 3... need good photos for travel posts and I just jot down things as I felt as I am a big nature enthusiast. Its a lot of fun, travel blogs, although its been ages since I made one...life caged me too...
Then crypto... crypto is such a fasinating field...there is always something interesting to talk about here... but lot of work, research and understanding... and I do write about DEFI about some crypto, blockchain concepts...
It makes me feel alive as well...that I have potential knowledge in something and gives you oppurtunities to learn diverse thing, like trading analysis, macro environment analysis... but it gives a lot of pain too if you sufferened being part of a crashed project like terrausd... REKT tears...
There came a point when I wanted to quite my crypto association but I actually know nothing else, like invested my time on it and I still focus on crypto related articles.
I lost out on getting a crypto writing job, because I have my life problems and writing a technical article for 2000 words and it being rejected with no pay... kind of tires you off...
I am still on it... here I get to hear about AI, some spicy news on charactors ... its too entertaining ...
anyway... I planned to post story posts, but I think no time for that... I do also post movie and book reviews... movie reviews are hard as its not the field I write well at...
anyway...
But as you said, growth and learning as a written...
I have learned to take banners and infographics here (again I am not into that)...creating good visuals of your own for your articles helps a lot. I made some crypto songs as well... and learned to structure my articles... selecting a good topic to write on that will interest others is also important... I learned and grown a lot and I can say, I am a very good crypto content writer.

Wow, your journey is more of an inspiration and it's amazing how you have summarized most of it to me, I do believe that no one is totally good at what he or she does except they practice it every time and also, anyone can learn anything too when they put their minds to it.
The journey to being successful in whatever we do is never easy but then I do believe that where will come a time when it will all be worth it.
I'm sure you will only keep getting better at what you do as long as you keep doing what you need to do.

Writing isn't an easy thing but creating a video is not much of a hassle to do. But there are some who will tell you they'd prefer writing than video content. We all have our different preferences and what works best and faster for us. To me, I find writing easier for me than having to make a video, edit, write something about it again. Arrrrggghhhh. So much work to do but we have to do it 😀
Yeah, there are days when writing comes a lot easier than creating a video content and that's why I'm hoping not to ever choose from the two of them.

A niche on Hive is tricky, do you do what you love or do what makes the rewards? Often they are not the same thing.

Like I said, I prefer reading from people and leaving them a comment but I won't deny the fact that I'm happy when I get a good support on my blogs, it feels good 🥰.
I forget this year, I written series of posts on dogs... it also took off(: ... I love writing on them and they also niche topic as they are my friends...

I have seen your video and can tell that you don't have any struggles while coming up with them. Video making is fun can be quite challenging as well, we should be happy we don't have to stick to one niche on hive; that would have made blogging very boring and I still think that we will always find our way around it.
Hehe, video is not really easy to edit though and sometimes posting through 3speak too. But it is well 😂.

I will say that My village people are after me then because that happens to me a lot. It can be incredibly difficult to choose a niche on Hive since most times, there are so many contests that just manages to captivate our attention. I also noticed that my V-logs get more attention. Which is cool but sometimes, making them can be tedious. However, no one said you get better by staying in your comfort zone right? hahahahaha.

It is very nice that you are able to find a niche on hive that you are comfortable with. It's not actually easy to find what you love to do on hive because most people tend to mix doing it for the rewards and doing it because they love it.

If I was to choose a niche too, I think I prefer making music videos because it comes naturally. I don't have to think too much.
I also face some of the challenges you mentioned, especially with people around my area shouting up and down.Sometimes I will just end up writing.

It is no doubt that you are talented in the aspect of music and creating content either with words or videos.
