A DAY TO REGRET

My school life was majorly about hustling to survive, but there were a few times I did things out of the ordinary, and just for the sake of adventure. Yeah I love adventures, and no matter how much time I spend working or studying, I still take out time to do something thrilling and adventurous. I remember one time I went to another city in a night bus for the first time with a friend because I wanted to just have that experience. We almost got into trouble, but that was more fun than I expected.

The time I did something crazy and actually regretted it, was when I went out with my friends the night before a major exam. Although I passed in flying colours, the events that unfolded have given me an everlasting scar. Everything was going well that day until things really went bad for me. I was walking with my friends back from the enjoyment we had that night when suddenly I fell into a ditch. It was a really big one and there were engineering rods inside. Although I did not fall completely, one the rods pierced my leg and gave me an everlasting scar.

The pain lasted for months, and I almost lost my leg because of that night. Truth was I had the option to not go out, because it was so late that day, but I refused to listen to my instincts and was carefree just enjoying the moment. I thought my life was boring that period and a little fun wouldn’t hurt, but guess what, it hurt like hell and to this day I am reminded of why I should have listened to my instincts. I remember how those wicked nurses and untrained doctors almost made me lose my legs. At the end of the day I had to go home for proper treatment, which took months to start healing. This was after two months of treating it in school.
