We all know how tiring and uneasy it is to be a student. Especially considering the situation of things in today's world. Talk of the cost of transportation, the various things to buy and pay for in school, feeding, accommodations, and simple things like buying data.
So, depending solely on your parents or a person's support is obviously not enough. At times your parent will even think you're lying and trying to scam them so you could get money, unknown to them school can be very demanding, thereby making you look like a liar.
And that is where side hustles come in, not a big business or work, just something that one can do alongside school just to help them stay afloat.
So, this week we want to help each other.
Share with us real side hustle ideas that you did while you were in school and can help, and if you're currently a student as well, tell us what you engage in that makes ends meet to an extent for you, something to help others...
Were you selling something in school or online? Were you involved in part-time work? Are you into an online job? Do you help fellow students with assignments and project work and get paid for it? Do you make hair? Do you tutor... Just tell us something that can be very helpful.
While in school, I was also doing part-time work. I was glad I got the job back then, as it was an easy one and my boss was never hard on me. I resume as a secretary by 2pm every day and close by 6pm. Not only that, but I'm most times alone in our chamber because my boss is a lawyer. So, I have time to rest and also read. There are times I don't go at all or arrive late, but my boss never complained; he understands that I was a student. Along the line, I helped my friend secure a job as a waiter in a restaurant next to my office, and that work helped us scale through school.
So, tell us what you do; we want to learn from you, and it's not bad if we can all do well and live well together.
What did you do? What work were you into? Which side hustle did you add with your academics that helped you financially? What is that thing you are doing at the moment that we can try out too?
Also, tell us how you were able to merge it with your academics, because there's no point in doing all of that work if your academics are now at the receiving end.
