I went completely sober for almost ten years, but while taking prescription medications, and that as directed.
This caused me to "blow up like a poisoned dog" as they say back home (I grew FAT)

Estuve completamente sobrio durante casi diez años, pero mientras tomaba medicamentos recetados, y según las indicaciones.
Esto hizo que me "hinchara como un perro envenenado" como dicen en mi país (engordé)

Once I stopped taking the anti depressant meds, I dropped 20 lbs almost overnight.
Now, I drink a little wine here and there.
I DID get staggering drunk a few months ago, ended up in the ER, so I will not be doing that again.

Una vez que dejé de tomar los medicamentos antidepresivos, bajé 20 libras casi durante la noche.
Ahora bebo un poco de vino aquí y allá.
Me emborraché muchísimo hace unos meses y terminé en urgencias, así que no volveré a hacer eso.

Sí, no sé si llego a la talla de un perro envenenado pero he engordado bastante, entre las pastillas y el haber dejado de fumar tabaco.

Be careful with alcohol, you can lose everything you have achieved for years in a moment of weakness. As an ex-smoker, I know how much addictions tempt. You are never completely free.

Ten cuidado con el alcohol, puedes perder todo lo logrado durante años en un momento de debilidad. Como exfumadora sé lo mucho que tientan las adicciones. Nunca eres libre del todo.
