Today, I was thinking about all the times I knew the right thing but still did the wrong thing. I remember how my dad would always say “Seriously! What do you mean you had no choice?” anytime I played the “I had no choice” card for doing something stupid. Deep down, I always felt like a clown with the kind of option I chose after bypassing all that could have been done. It was even worse on days I got shortsighted by emotions.
Remember when you got so offended and chose to be bitter? Something else you could have done was to let it go or move on with your life and ten other things. These are things we all know, yet choose to brush them under the rug. And when we slip on the same rug because it’s no more flat enough to walk on, we prepare to blame others.
It’s fine that you couldn’t explore your options or probably didn’t even know you had them all along. But it’s appalling to blame the result of your choice on others. Let me just make it clear that you can’t blame what you choose to do in your secret place on others when they blow back at you in the face in public.
“I know what I did was awful but I did it because I didn’t know what else to do” Alright, but what about the one option called “the right thing?” We walk past that because we only think of ourselves and the benefits in such moments. It’s alarming how people are quick to compromise their morals for their gains instead of combing through the list of options they have, to do the right thing.
There will always be many options in life and I admonish you to fight for the right one. Not analyzing choices before choosing them is one way ticket to making an error and later feeling remorseful. I don’t know what you are going through but when life throws lemons at you, the only option is not to make lemonades.
You can make lemon scones, lemon cheesecake, and other things. But for the sake of those looking up to you, in the end, your choice shouldn't create a bridge between you and what you stand for.

I always laugh when someone says they had no other choice. Like really? Not making a choice is a choice on its own.
You’ve spoken really well. We should strive to make the right choice amidst so many choices to make.

Not making a choice itself is even a choice. Thank you for bringing my mind to it.

It’s so true that we often convince ourselves there’s only one way out when in reality, there are always choices, even if they’re hard ones.🤗
Yes, even the hard ones.
Sometimes it’s the hard choices that shape us the most.😊
This hit deeply.
We just cob in to our comfortability without going for the right thing and end up blaming it on what's not to be blamed.
Which is very sad.
It is
Thank you
Exactly....
This is so deep, most times we always find an excuse to hide behind.. that was the only option I had... I wouldn't have done it if I had another option...
Complete lie... We all have choices we just choose not to explore them.. thank you so much for this beautiful post❤️
