Out With Web2, In With Web3 - Hive Is Leading The Pack

The social media world and the world of content creation is fast evolving from web2 platforms with the integration of web3.0 platforms. These decentralization based platforms have one thing in common and that is to take power away from the owners or from one person or authority and give it directly to the users or the masses.

We all are not new to the centralization ways of twitter, facebook or whatsapp. One way or the other, directly or indirectly, we have had our experiences with the negative side of these platforms. Even if we haven’t, it is time to stop wasting our data and our money on them and move our attention, energy and resources to web3 platforms.

Web3 platforms are everything web2 platforms but so much more and better. Unlike these web2 were you give your money away, you can earn by using web3. You do more than just earn but you also control your accounts and have the freedom to do whatever you want. It’s real, true decentralized web3 platform like the hive blockchain allows you to control your blogging and content creation life.

Despite all these opportunities and major advantages over the web2 platforms, web3 users are not near the amount users platforms like twitter, tiktok and WhatsApp have. Why’s that? It’s fair to say that one of the reasons is the misconception around web3. This might not be the case in all countries but from where I come from, it is certainly a major concern if not the biggest concern.

Over here, when you hear anything cryptocurrency, a lot of people think it is scam or some form of a Ponzi scheme. Well, you cannot totally blame the people because a lot of us have had our fair share of bad experiences from things similar to web3. In light of that, we have to play our part in making sure that we let people know that Ponzi schemes and web3 isn’t the same. There are risks involved in everything including stepping out of your house to cross your road but with your due diligence, you can control how much you are exposed to potentially wrong opportunities.

This leads me to my next point which is a lack of advertisement and education. Though we have began to use the traditional social media platforms to advertise web3 like we do with hive by sharing our blog and other stuff there, we could do with a lot more education and advertisement. Leofinance, dreemport and splinterlands are just a few communities that promote the advertising of hive by allowing users share their content on web2 primarily twitter. With more advertisement to our friends, classmates, co workers, we could get more people to use hive. Wearing hive shirts and using hive souvenirs is a good start.

The thought that web3 and blockchain is difficult is another reason I think web3 is not being exploited by more users. Some people think it is complex to understand the workings of a blockchain which maybe at first it might seem that way but as living proof, I guarantee it is not at all. Using web3 like hive is just as simple and efficient as web2. Granted, you have to learn to use a few more sights but the security and scalability these sites provide is very worth it. We just need to open our minds to something new and be ready to learn. That is the only way we would understand web3. I bet most of us do not fully use or even understand the web2 we use but we are there anywhere. By just taking a leap, we could unlock some much more opportunities here on the hive blockchain and other web3 platforms.
