Once upon a time …..

I was 10, and the last born of a family of 5 I loved to tag along with my mom whenever she was leaving the house especially when it was a party because I love parties so much.

It was on a sunny Saturday and I saw my mum dressing so classy and beautifully Sweet I didn’t hesitate to check into my wardrobe to pick one of my finest clothes so I can be ready when she’s heading out.

Getting to the sitting room she saw me all already without invitation and I looked straight into her eye with pity so she wouldn’t have to convince me to stay back and it worked.

Getting to the event, looking from the look of how big the hall is it's a big man’s party trust me I’m already thinking of how big my tummy is gonna be after devouring the party Jollof.

Here comes the bride looking so elegant and good looking with thousands of naira worth of wedding gown. I was already picturing myself being the groom because she was just so good-looking.

There, my mom saw how focused my gaze was on her and she had to smile and tap me saying you need to work hard so you can be the one getting this kind of price.

Now I’m eager to know how my mom got to know this family and she replied with is a long story that she’ll tell me when we are home.

But she told me how the couple get to know their selves….

While I was in the conversation with her I observed the groom is nowhere to be found though the event hall was lively and hard to notice but my curiosity to know who the young man that owns such a Queen is made me notice he’s not around to claim his prize yet.

While in the conversation, my mom narrated to me how good the lady had been to the man in their relationship and how the bride’s family had been of great help to the guy’s career.

Not long everywhere became unsettled and I heard someone whispering close to where we sat that the ceremony had been canceled by the groom and he had eloped to the state.

The bride started crying after receiving this shocking news and started throwing her beautiful self to the ground I can’t but pity her.
Unintentionally I started thinking of ways to punish this guy on her behalf.

Funny right, but trust me that was my exact thought at the moment.

Different ways to punish this groom started striking in my head and the most dangerous one was to track him and painfully kill him.

But then I remembered how I’d been fed the spiritual food in Sunday school classes so I had to make my revenge the fuel to make him believe it was his loss.

So I started thinking on her behalf again instead of fueling the revenge on hurting someone and putting her purpose in life at stake she should just do the opposite such as taking new hobbies (painting, playing instruments, and exciting activities)so she can get herself distracted and still own new talents.

But the most important part of this revenge plan is to find true happiness within herself, surrounding herself with supportive friends and family which she’s got, forgiving her ex, and letting go of the anger.

I do wish I could come in contact with her to know if she's doing well.
