RAIN-DRENCHING EMBARRASSING MOMENT I HAD

Being beaten by the rain is one of our top desires as children because of its coolness and the delight that comes from playing in such situations with our peers, but as time goes on, it becomes something we dread and don't really fancy getting beaten by. I've even been beaten by the rain on several occasions, and each of them holds different memories and how I feel about it. Today I'll share one of such memories with you.

I used to be someone who couldn't see the rain fall so I could rush into get and get dretched by those cool raindrops; it was usually a pleasure back then, but then as time went on, I kind of developed or noticed a health issue that made me run in search of a shelter. I realized it wanted to rain, and this is because immediately a drop of water touches my head, almost immediately I will have a running nose, and these made me run from anything that would make me have such.

Well, I've not been lucky with that on several occasions. I can remember a day I was coming back from my place of work and I was already in the tricycle that'd drop me at my bus stop when the rain started. These gave me no choice or option of being able to resist getting at least a few drops of rain on me.

On moving closer to my destination, realize the rain was mainly falling around my neighborhood and wasn't even falling at my work area that I just left, which was just about 20 minutes drive from my place. I got to the bus stop that led to my house and quickly ran down to hide under the nearest shelter. Unfortunately for me, although there was one, the roof of the place was leaking and the rain itself had no direction, which meant that despite hiding there, I was still being heavily drenched by the rain.

Since I was already drenched by the rain, I thought within myself that there's no point hiding here since what I'm trying to prevent has already happened and I just need to wait for the worst, so I made up my mind to run home under the heavy rain. This went smoothly until I stepped on a slippery part on the floor, and before I could say jack, I've hit the muddy floor, I stood up dirty and ashamed of myself.

Although I heard someone laugh from the nearest house close to where I fell, I must say I'm still fortunate it was raining when I fell, because that forced everyone to stay indoor. I can only imagine how I would have felt to work down the street drenched with mud and rainwater while everyone looked and wondered if I was alright or not. Well, since one was watching, or so I thought, I picked myself up and ran down to my house.

On getting home, I had a very long shower to wash the dirt off me and clean the dirt off my cloth before soaking it to be washed later. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all, and I ended up having a headache and the running nose I was trying to avoid all along.
