Returning to the slow carb diet - Part 2

avatar

This is a continuation of this post I made about two weeks ago. Click here if you missed it, in case you want to learn more about the actual slow carb diet.

So, I believe this is my fifth week, in my last report I was at 87.2 kg, today, two weeks later the scale showed me at 85.500.

Not bad, although I hoped I would be below 85 at this point. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Other than the lost weight I have seen some other improvements I'd like to share.

Sleep: Great improvement in this field. My sleep was always bad and probably still is, lol. But I think it's much better now as I wake up less times during the night and I feel more rejuvenated in the morning. And I also get to dream a lot more! Is it because of the lost weight? The difference in the diet? A combination of both? Dunno, but I will take it. The improved sleep is also probably why I am more focused and energetic during the day

Gums: I have relatively good teeth but the past year or so, I had noticed a couple of my gums would bleed for whatever reason. The problem would come and go, despite changing tooth paste, using an electric brush and of course professional dental cleaning every six months. Yet, it has miraculously gone away after just two weeks on the diet.

Maybe it's just because the reduced sugars in my diet create a less friendly environment for the mouth bacteria? But I remember reading somewhere bleeding gums are also an early sign of pre-diabetes so maybe I dodged a bullet there. Again, dunno. Just glad the problem has vanished.

Next Sunday I'll be taking my first summer vacations. Now this is gonna be my first serious test since I want to have fun and not care about what to eat. Plus I won't be able to cook.

So I'll try something else. I will switch my slow carb diet for the OMAD diet, which means only one meal a day, which for me with be the hotel breakfast. I won't restrict my self when it comes to types of food or amount. I'll just stuff myself like a filthy animal in the morning 😂

As long as I maintain my weight during that time, I will be more than happy.

I guess I'll post another report on a couple of weeks or so.

Great to hear about your progress big brother, especially with sleep and gum health. Balancing the diet while on vacation is pretty challenging, but enjoying yourself is important too. Looking forward to your next update bro

More than the weight itself, if you're noticing health improvements, that's what counts! I've been wanting to read that book for quite some time, have to take care of that soon. Cheers! !BEER

I think it's decent progress and I hope you are able to keep your diet up over your vacation. It will definitely be tough because you get urges as you walk around.

I need to ask, whats the idea behind the 1 Glass of Alcohol a day?

Imo the author just likes wine and wanted a small cheat during the day :p I skip it and instead have an occasional beer here and there 😉
