Sidenote, what do you think of the photos? I think am getting better and more creative with them ^_^

In case you are unfamiliar with the coin, this is a Maria Theresa thaler (MTT) piece,a silver bullion coin with great historical significance:

The Maria Theresa thaler (MTT) is a silver bullion coin and a type of Conventionsthaler that has been used in world trade continuously since it was first minted in 1741. It is named after Maria Theresa who ruled Austria, Hungary, and Bohemia from 1740 to 1780 and is depicted on the coin.

Usually I like to write more info about the coins I feature, especially when you can't find much info about them online or you have to dig a lot to learn about what they depict etc etc.

However, this is a really popular piece so there's really no point rehashing Wikipedia and other sources to come up with something inferior :)

I'll just mention that it's one chunky piece, 28 grams of 0.833 purity. Niceeeee!

I always wanted to get one for my collection but I could never find one in the right price so it was super I got it for free.. And the condition isn't bad either! Maybe I should sell it, lmao 😂

Nah, it's a keeper!

Hope you enjoyed all these sexy photos and maybe even got a bit jelly!

Here is a link to wikipedia, the wiki entry is amazing and has probably everything you need to know about this beautiful Hungarian piece and its use over the centuries!

I like the terminology "a chunky piece" lol. Though 1780 that has to have some value behind it. Nice coin.

Are those coins still in used, like do they use them for payment of goods?

what do you think of the photos? I think am getting better and more creative with them

To me, i will say the photos are fantastic and are good to view. I'm sure this coin will have an historical background that one might need to explore.

Pleb! Please correct it to Austrian/Habsburg Thaler. There was no Hungary at that time. Sisi needed to be born to create it.

Thalers are cool, only problem is you never actually know when it was minted... I have exactly one, very cool coin!
