A Perfect Saturday - LOH #140

The phone alarm is off. I'll wake when I'm done sleeping and not a second earlier. The hubby will sleep a bit longer, I hope, so I can get some time to myself.

Wearing yesterday's t-shirt and nothing else - why put on clean clothes before I have a bath or a shower? - I'll tiptoe around the apartment setting things to right and prepare for the day. Aha, hubby had a cup of coffee when he got home from work this morning? Wash the cup! And here are his shoes, stepped out of just inside the door, and his backpack dropped on top, where we'll both stumble on them if I don't move them aside. Kick! Ouch, that hurt my toe.

Then I close the bedroom door and open a window in every other room. Fresh air! The bedroom will be aired out later - it'd be unkind to open the window there and let in the outdoor noise while hubby needs his sleep.

A cup of tea and some re-heated leftovers for breakfast, then a bit of Hive and other internet stuff. Did anyone I follow write an interesting post while I slept? Were there any giveaways for Splinterlands or Rising Star that I missed entering? And does the local grocery have any Saturday specials that interest me? Nope, 5kg of potatoes for $2 is nice, but we don't eat that much in a month, much less in the week before they go bad. Taters are nice, but we are rice people. How can I have 48 unread emails, I thought I read deleted a whole bunch only yesterday! And 523 unread notifications in Discord? They can wait.

Now it's time to get dressed. What do I want to wear today? Or rather, which t-shirt is clean? I fill the bath tub with steaming hot water, spend an hour soaking and scrubbing, than another hour air-drying, before I go look in the walk-in-closet and stare at my clothes. Yup! I've got a walk-in-closet! Luxury, eh? 95% of it is filled with other things than clothes - a small tent, a huge tent, 5 sleeping bags, two boxes full of plastic containers lacking lids, and another box full of lids lacking containers, a broken sewing machine... junk. But just inside the door, where I can still reach them, are 5 hangers with dresses I'm plenty of lbs too large for, and 5 hangers with t-shirts in various shades of purple. I'll wear the one closest to the door. I always do.

It's 2pm and the hubby is waking up! I'd make him a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich, except he says only coffee-drinkers make good coffee. So instead I'll wait until he's sitting down and hit him with my PLANS FOR THE DAY! The bathroom needs cleaning, and it'd be nice if someone vacuumed the livingroom floor while I dust all the bookshelves, wouldn't it? Also, a beer to drink with dinner would be nice, ooops, the liquor store closes in an hour, please gulp down that coffee and run! And I want to go the grocery store to see if they've got any rhubarb, and I want to take a walk in the other direction to see if it's true that there are willows growing in that park, and then we could...

NO!

Apparently my perfect Saturday differs from the idea my hubby had. But you know what? That's perfectly fine, as long as we get to spend the day together.
