LONG NECK MOTHER AND DAUGHTER PORTRAIT

This was photo of mother and daughter of long neck tribe portrait that has been taken by me when i was visiting their tribeb village in Chiang Mai , Thailand .

Originally , the long neck was a Myanmar native community before they flew away for their safety due to conflict to military regime in Myanmar around 1980 to 1990 . They become refuge in Thailand border and until now can be found in this place. SOURCE

As you can see , their tradition to putting weight at their neck has been start since their early age. Personally , im not happy with this but since it was their tradition , we as outsider cant talk anything about that.

The mother was selling her vegetable while looking after her kid. They are friendly and in same time shy when im taking their picture. If you realize , the mother has put their family secret powder at her baby face to prevent the heat and keep their face pretty . They call this thanaka and still being practices almost everywhere in Myanmar .
