An Evening Walk

This walk took place several weeks ago before the real heat we experience now was here. Even then, it was nice to be able to go out after work, as inside it was already quite hot even during these weeks. We had to adjust from having the window open a lot and using fans, to now having at least 1 air conditioner blowing cool wind around the clock. I personally always try to open up the windows first thing in the morning, which means I leave the kittens in the playpen for an extra hour so that there's no escape attempt while enjoying some real oxygen, lol.

As soon as the rooms are filled with oxygen, we can open the playpen and move to the fans and airco when needed. Once my boyfriend is done working and had his daily meeting with his team, it means we are all ready to head out. We often simply go for a tapa at the restaurant serving them all day long so we don't have to wait until 8 or 8.30 to get them. Sometimes we add some other tasks to our outside time, and I have to admit that many tasks that can be postponed until the evening are usually postponed because of the more pleasant temperature.

Beach

What we all enjoy is walking on the beach boulevard. Especially now that we found another spot to park, giving us the opportunity to have quite a good walk towards the harbor and back to the car. This will ensure we do our daily steps as well as have enough time to listen to the ocean waves while walking.

Currently, we are at the point where the beaches are filled with tourists so we also have a lot of people to watch if we sit down for a breather. Summer is definitely here and last year we were officially tourists ourselves when we arrived at the end of May, but now, we are locals who enjoy a bit of tourist-watching, lol. People are often dressed in beachwear and more exposed bodies can be found in restaurants and bars because that's tourist life, I guess.

Playground

We often stop at the playground, even though they are super small and not really interesting, our daughter can at least use the swing for a bit while we sit down to chat about the day or what we see around us.

Once we're done at the playground, we walk towards the harbor to either sit down at the tapa place we love so much or to check for a free table in the harbor at one of our favorite restaurants.

Gratitude

It's the little things that count and even such a small walk in the harbor makes me feel really relaxed and grateful that we live here. The sound of the waves adds to this even more. I love hearing the Spanish chatter around us and often smile a bit while understanding what others are talking about. It's definitely becoming more fun when you can understand more of the language. I feel grateful for finding back our way to Spain from where we continue building our lives.

Here's to many more beach (Wednesday) walks!

Yes it's indeed very relaxing, I love it, especially if it's a bit cooler in the evening.

That looks so nice! A nice and quiet deserted beach, it looks like your daughter had fun! How were the Tapas?

Yes, that part is quite deserted, about 200 meters further and it's already packed with tourists at the moment. Summer is here!

The tapas at that restaurant we eat are usually either "gambas al ajillo" (gambas in garlic), "Bomba de carne" (fried "bomb" of potatoes with meat feeling, "patatas rellenas which are actually more "papas de feria" (filled potatoes) lol.. so we know these are good. Sometimes we go bold and try something new such as recently, dogfish wich was actually very nice.

I forgot what we ate that evening, sorry :)

That sounds like a great place to eat! Summer is here so you will see a lot of tourists I bet. I haven't tried dogfish, you liked it?

Yeah, it was ok, very soft in taste and it sort of melted on the tongue, pretty weird experience but not bad.
