Day 8 - Nutella Pancakes

I got inspired by the "30 day not-so ordinary ordinary items challenge" but as I love giving things a personal twist, I decided to change the format a bit for myself so it suits me better. I've adjusted it to the 30 pictures - 30 stories challenge. But some days you will see that I also use not-so ordinary ordinary objects.

Publish one picture a day during 30 days and write a story about that picture. This can be anything, any object in the home, a person, scenery or a pet. I'm going to share a diversity of pictures and challenge myself to step outside of the box.

The picture of today symbolizes our Saturday family time. As we do regularly when we are in the need of some sunrays on our face but not in the mood to walk too far, we visit a fairly new place about 10 minutes from our home where we can sniff some sun as well as have a drink and a snack to eat.

They opened a few months ago and I honestly wondered how they'd be able to start this after the summer ended and tourists were not here anymore as well as because they have a HUGE inside space with a lot of tables, more than the average restaurant here. They also have a few very busy (read: usually booked fully) restaurants as neighbors so it was a bold move. They seem to be doing well though because it happens quite often (so it did last Saturday) that we see them being almost at full capacity while the neighbors have just 2 tables occupied. I think they are doing a good job, especially considering the fact that for months they only had pancakes and waffles for food and didn't do any breakfast, dinner or tapa moments at all while opened from morning to 2 AM.

On Saturday I noticed they now have a "tostada special" menu card, a little bit of luxury toasts with smoked salmon and stuff like that, so I will be going there for a breakfast to test that out soon I guess. They are super kind and young entrepreneurs and they managed to start up something after the summer holidays, they serve good waffles and pancakes so we're happy to support them every now and then.

Until last weekend, we only tried their waffles with kinder bueno cream, so good! Our daughter had regular pancakes with Nutella before but it seems they have someone new in the kitchen as now they served American pancakes instead. It was a surprise when we received our food and seemed that this was going to be a lot for her to finish as it's quite rich, but she will not say no to an opportunity to eat anything with Nutella, haha.

I personally loved the looks but it's way too rich for me, as it was the same with our waffles topped off with way too much cream this time for us to handle. Next time I will probably eat a little less of that, that is if I can resist, lol. This time we were out of luck in terms of sniffing sun as the sun was gone already and we were quite cold actually even though a few hours earlier it was 19 degrees. I have to remember to dress a little warmer if we leave somewhere at the end of the afternoon because even though it can reach 20 degrees during the early afternoon hours, it also vanishes as quickly as it rose to become very chilly during the evening.
