It only took me 10 years but today I finished my "Meet the mercs" Series on Youtube where you can see the video calls you have with the mercenaries in the game Jagged Alliance 2 - one of my all time favorite games. My ThatGermanDude profile picture is also one of the Jagged Alliance Mercs in disguise, can you spot which one?

I even contacted the artist, back when I had Facebook, to know how they did this amazing pixel art on the Jagged Alliance 2 mercenary faces. I always thought they somehow pixelized photos of real people but he told me it is all drawn from scratch.
He also gave me permission to use Shadow with german goggles as my social media avatar. I know the official rights are with some rando eastern company that bought the rights to JA2, but it feels nice to have the artists blessing.

If you like there is plenty more JA2 content on my channel, but I rarely play the game nowadays. I have looked into JA3 and @felixxx told me it is a really worthy successor, but I still only did a few levels. I will continue the game at some point though.

For my Youtube content creator career I think the next big thing I will do is translate Putins german speech in the Bundestag 20 years ago.

Ich habe nur 10 Jahre gebraucht, aber heute habe ich meine "Meet the mercs" Serie auf Youtube beendet, in der ihr die Videogespräche mit den Söldnern im Spiel Jagged Alliance 2 sehen könnt - eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsspiele. Mein ThatGermanDude-Profilbild ist auch einer der Jagged Alliance-Söldner in Verkleidung, kannst du erkennen, welcher es ist?

Ich habe sogar den Künstler des Spiels kontaktiert, als ich noch Facebook hatte, um zu erfahren, wie sie diese erstaunliche Pixelkunst mit den Gesichtern der Jagged Alliance 2-Söldner gemacht haben. Ich dachte immer, sie hätten Fotos von echten Menschen verpixelt, aber er sagte mir, dass alles von Grund auf gezeichnet ist.
Er gab mir auch die Erlaubnis, Shadow mit der deutschen Brille als meinen Avatar für die sozialen Medien zu verwenden. Ich weiß, dass die offiziellen Rechte bei irgendeiner Firma im Osten liegen, die die Rechte an JA2 gekauft hat, aber es ist schön, den Segen des Künstlers zu haben.

Wenn ihr wollt, gibt es auf meinem Kanal noch viel mehr JA2-Inhalte, aber ich spiele das Spiel heutzutage nur noch selten. Ich habe mir JA3 angesehen und @felixxx hat mir gesagt, dass es ein wirklich würdiger Nachfolger ist, aber ich habe trotzdem nur ein paar Levels gespielt. Irgendwann werde ich das Spiel aber weiter spielen.

Für meine Youtube-Karriere denke ich, dass das nächste große Ding, das ich machen werde, ist die Übersetzung von Putins Rede im Bundestag vor 20 Jahren auf Englisch.
