Cinderfella Diaries Cinderfella and the Shark

Hello Hello to all the wonderful Hivians, and the not-so-wonderful ones well hello to you too!

So at the end of 2022 just before Christmas we were due to get our gas boiler replaced. The plumber though, turned up and blew a gasket as he was not prepared to do some work and thought it was a straight like for like replacement.

Allegedly the pipework needed replacing and instead of putting the new boiler in the kitchen, it would go in a closet in the bedroom as less pipes to run and less floors that would need lifting.

He did not have time to do it, and then on Wednesday afternoon he phones asking if he can come on Thursday.

Cinderfella then had to get to work moving furniture around as he would need to lift the carpet to get underneath the floorboards.

He still made a bloody mess, and cut floor boards all the way into the kitchen so not sure what he was on about saying that putting in the closet would save time and materials.

Some places he rolled carpet back some places he lifted the whole thing.

Now what is needed is for the electrician to come and hard wire into the mains, oh yes supposed to be Friday afternoon!

In the meantime the boiler works and is super quiet when operational!

Cinderfella of course is the male version of Cinderella didn't you know!

The Shark, have you guessed the kind of shark yet?

image.png

It came in a great big box!

I tell you what, when I went on a mad shopping spree last week and things started arriving this week...

image.png

Little did I know that two purchases would come in so handy!

One was a small space heater, and that worked wonders on Thursday night when we had no boiler and so no heating!

The other well, it came in this box...

image.png

Yes it is a monster, actually the easiest to use vacuum cleaner I had ever seen let alone used!

It swivels and comes apart and is so light, that I can use with my left hand if needed!

So that is my encounter with the Shark, it was a friendly one.

Now though, it is time to get back to Cinderfella duties and get some closet reorganising done!

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day!

Oh Cindefella! That's weird hehe... you have always being strange and funny! Is that his name name or a nickname you know?

Did he mess the house really up??...or was any damages incurred? When I read shark, little did I know that it was a vacuum cleaner but I guess it did its job just like a shark will do.

hehe I did think shark would be some confusing clickbait 🤣
He was messy and did break one thing, but it was for the door and I have something else so that is ok. Yes I like the Cinderfella name hehe!

Be careful not to step into those holes Ed! That looks like a real building site there! My floors are concrete, so there would be no laying new pipes there! !LOL

Yeah and managed to leave wood under the carpet so I had to redo things yesterday.
Oh concrete now that would make things interesting Steve!

Yikes! We had a similar thing in our old house when the kitchen flooded. Forced us to redo the whole kitchen which we had wanted to do for a long time, lol!!

Problem is you’d need to flood your house for a real shark to help you with tidying duties and that wouldn’t work. So a shark vacuum cleaner is a good buy. Weirdly we’ve just been talking about buying a new hoover, Mrs L and I. Quite fancy a great white shark, would frighten off intruders.

hehe maybe there was a shark under the floorboards as we are on the coast 🤣

As for the Shark vacuum cleaner, they are pricey but worth it I think!

We’d not buy another Dyson, ours is now many years old and we just keep fixing it. If we were to replace it, a brand like Shark would do the trick.

Around here, we are landlocked (Berkshire) so probably have badgers lurking around underneath the house or other subterranean mammals!!

A shark would make it a snappy evening near Cinderfella’s ball(s)! Be careful out there!

Congrats on the new boiler and the shark! It’ll make cleaning a doddle! One sucks, the other blows!

Thanks hopefully more efficient and less gas used, so we will see!
Ah the sucky blow combination should work wonders!

Hello @tengolotodo, be careful, those repairs that involve gas pipes and electrical wiring scare me a little.

Ah yes, that is why I got the "professionals" to do it, thank you for your concern 😁

Isn't it illegal to leave someone without heating in the middle of the winter? It should be!

Gosh, Super Ed! I hope you can get the wiring done tomorrow and get all the furniture back in place.
I can see, you've been doing some compulsive shopping 😂😂
And well, I can picture Cinderfella on duty with his new Shark ;)🤣
