My Interview Is Done/ CR1 Visa

IMG_3688.jpeg

Hello everyone, today I would like to share my US Embassy interview for the CR1 visa. I have an appointment from the US Embassy on March 26, 2024 in Phnom Penh. I have to go to the Ministry of Justice on the 25th from 3 to 5 pm, which is Monday. This letter of condemnation is important for the interview.

Therefore, I had to go on Sunday the 24th because I was afraid it would be too late on Monday for the judgment letter to be taken for the interview on Tuesday at 8:30 am. I rode the tuk tuk from 2:30 and I waited until 4:30 to get my apology because there were too many people there and I was worried I could not get it that day.

I have one day in Phnom Penh to do some shopping and get all my paperwork ready for my interview. I woke up at 4:00 am, got ready to dive out of the inn at 6:00 am, and I arrived at the US Embassy at 6:00 am. In front of the embassy there is a large garden called Wat Phnom. I sat and waited there until 7:00 am when I saw people from other places waiting for an interview like me.

While I was waiting, my daughter Chhat came to encourage me and wish me a successful interview. My husband also came to encourage me and wished me a successful interview. He asked me if I was excited, to which I replied that I was not. Because this interview is me interviewing alone without my two daughters. Before I meet with a US Embassy official for an interview, I need to meet with a Cambodian staff member to check all my documents for the interview.

At 8:20 a.m., security guards called us to line up and get ready to enter the embassy. This is the first time I have been interviewed at the US Embassy, so I was a little nervous. When they took my documents, they let me sit and wait for the number to call for an interview with the embassy official.

I just sat there for about 5 minutes, and that Cambodian staff called me back and told me that my sponsor documents, which live in the United States, were not signed. At that time, I felt that I had failed in my interview that day. But the staff said to me, "Okay, you can still be interviewed normally today." They let me sit and wait again. While I was waiting, I already thought I could not get a visa today.

The first time the embassy met me, he greeted me and asked me what language you would like to speak in Khmer or English. I replied that I wanted to speak Khmer because I did not know much English. Embassy officials asked me about 10 questions, and those questions were short, and I answered briefly.

The first question they ask me is who is your sponsor coming to America?
2: What language does your husband speak to you?
3: How do you know your husband?
4: In what year did you first meet?
5: In what year did you get married and in what country?
6: Do you have children with you?
7: What is your husband job?
8 What language does your child speak with your husband?
9: Can you speak English?
10: Is your husband in Cambodia with you now?

After the 10 questions were completed, he said that your interview today is a success. But you can not get a visa until you upload the missing documents and you come to see me again, I will give you a visa. I do not know if I should be happy or unhappy, but what I think is probably good. Because maybe I have time to wait for my two daughters to get a visa to go to America together. Have a nice day everyone.

Yes, it's true that sometimes circumstances throw us into a weird moment, yours is pretty much the same. But I am quite optimistic and believe that you will get the visa, so you must be happy. I hope you have a wonderful time back and have a chance to enjoy the good times.

Those questions are quite easy but still this kind of activities needs time and fucos, answering correctly with no mistakes must be. But I congratulate you Ma'am for finishing your interview. 😊

Have a nice day Ma'am.
