[ENG/PT-BR] What would my life be like without social media?

If there is a subject that is generally involved in a lot of controversy and is always at the forefront of our lives, this subject is certainly linked to social media. Regardless of whether they are from Web2, like Facebook or Instagram or our beloved Hive, the time we spend browsing these networks, if not controlled or balanced, can cause more harm than good for us.

Imagining that someone asked me what my life would be like if social networks didn't exist, that would be a good question to ask and with a lot of reflection I would say, after all, for me, nowadays, social networks are no longer as important as they used to be, So I would answer that it depends on my age to analyze what life would be like without social media.

A long time ago, when Orkut still existed (which I believe was the first social network for many) I was quite addicted to browsing the networks for hours, where testimonials, interactions in communities and messages left were the most important thing in my life. I remember being moved when I received a statement from some friends who were very important to me, it was a good time overall.

With the arrival of Facebook in Brazil in 2008, another social revolution began here, a true fever where everyone was online all the time and again, spending hours and hours on the networks was something incredible. I really considered it important to have an influence, to publicize my life, the things I did and so on on the networks. After Facebook, we know that many others came, but now the feeling for me started to get different, where it was no longer so important to disclose everything I did on the internet.

So, if at that time a social network was everything to me, nowadays I don't really care much about them and I even say that if it weren't for Hive, I might not even be using them anymore. I have them just to be able to promote Hive, so with that my thinking changed in relation to all of this and of course I like to promote one thing or another about my personal life, but on Web2, the pace has simply dropped a lot and I no longer browse so much so and if I do, I just skim the publications and well, it has almost no relevance to me.

Without social networks..., in fact, I think I even wish this would happen one day, a reset in the lives of people who have become distant because of them and who knows if none existed (unfortunately without Hive too), people would leave their houses to talk, have an ice cream, play some sport, do those things we did in the 90s, where the interaction was real and physical and not virtual. Nowadays, we suffer from this, as I have already mentioned in many posts, this progress in the internet and social networks has brought together those who are far away and pushed away those who are close.

With this thought in mind, I would venture to say that my life would improve a lot, my children and my wife would have more time for myself, we would be able to talk more, interact more and live better without Tik Tok, YouTube, Shorts, Stories and all that shit that hypnotizes our children and generates pleasure for tired adults looking for something to pass the time after a long day at work. Without Hive, which I focus so much on today, I would also have more time for them, without having to spend hours talking and interacting with people or worrying about making posts, everything could be different.

In our 20s, we want to be the most famous star on Facebook, but when we reach our 30s, it seems that all we want is peace, calm, tranquility, distance from these perfect lives presented on social media. I speak in the plural because I've already talked about this kind of thing with some family and friends and guess what? Synchronized thoughts on the same idea.

So that's what I think. It would be cool to take a collective vacation, like 2 or 4 years of social media, everyone gets banned or the servers catch fire and look, everyone rediscovers that there is a (real) world out here with a lot of cool things we can do. That would be incredible, wouldn't it?

Se tem um assunto que geralmente está envolvido em muita polêmica e está sempre em destaque nas nossas vidas, este assunto com certeza está ligado a redes sociais. Independente delas serem da Web2, como Facebook ou Instagram ou a nossa querida Hive, o tempo que gastamos navegando nestas redes, se não controlado ou equilibrado, podem causar mais males do que coisas boas para nós.

Imaginando que alguém me perguntasse como seria a minha vida caso as redes sociais não existissem, essa seria uma boa pergunta a se fazer e com muita reflexão eu diria, afinal, para mim, na atualidade, redes sociais já não são tão importantes como antigamente, então eu responderia que dependesse da minha idade para analisar como seria a vida sem as mídias sociais.

Há muito tempo, quando ainda existia o Orkut (que acredito ter sido a primeira rede social de muitos) eu era bem viciado em navegar, por horas nas redes, onde depoimentos, interações em comunidades e recados deixados eram a coisa mais importante na minha vida. Lembro de até ficar emocionado ao receber o depoimento de alguns amigos que eram bem importantes para mim, foi uma época boa no geral.

Com a chegada do Facebook no Brasil em 2008, outra revolução social iniciava-se por aqui, uma verdadeira febre onde todos ficavam online o tempo todo e novamente, passar horas e mais horas nas redes era algo incrível. Realmente considerava importante ter uma influência, divulgar a minha vida, as coisas que fazia e por aí vai nas redes. Depois do Facebook sabemos que vieram muitas outras, mas, agora o sentimento para mim começava a ficar diferente, onde já não era tão importante divulgar tudo o que fazia na internet.

Então, se naquela época uma rede social era tudo para mim, hoje em dia eu realmente não importo muito com elas e até digo que se não fosse a Hive, talvez nem estivesse mexendo mais nelas. As tenho para poder justamente divulgar a Hive, então com isso meu pensamento mudou em relação a tudo isso e é claro que gosto de divulgar uma coisa ou outra aqui da minha vida pessoal, mas na Web2, simplesmente o ritmo caiu muito e já não navego tanto assim e se o faço, apenas passo os olhos perante as publicações e bem, não tem relevância quase que nenhuma para mim.

Sem redes sociais…, na verdade, acho que até desejo que isso acontecesse um dia, um reinício na vida das pessoas que se tornaram distantes por causa delas e quem sabe se nenhuma existisse (infelizmente sem a Hive também), as pessoas sairiam de suas casas para conversar, tomar um sorvete, praticar algum esporte, fazer aquelas coisas que fazíamos nos anos 90, onde a interação era real e física e não virtual. Hoje em dia, sofremos com isso, como já comentei em muitas postagens, este progresso de internet e redes sociais, aproximou quem está longe e afastou quem está perto.

Com este pensamento em mente, arrisco dizer que a minha vida melhoraria bastante, meus filhos e minha esposa teriam mais tempo para mim, poderíamos conversar mais, interagir mais e viver melhor sem Tik Tok, YouTube, Shorts, Storys e toda essa merda que hipnotiza nossas crianças e gera prazer para os adultos cansados que procuram algo para passar o tempo após um dia longo de trabalho. Sem a Hive pela qual foco tanto hoje, eu também teria mais tempo para eles, sem precisar passar horas conversando e interagindo com as pessoas ou me preocupando em realizar postagens, tudo poderia ser diferente.

Na casa dos 20 anos, queremos ser a estrela mais famosa do Facebook, mas, quando chegamos nos 30, parece que tudo o que desejamos é sossego, calmaria, tranquilidade, distância destas vidas perfeitas apresentadas nas redes sociais. Falo no plural porque já conversei esse tipo de coisa com alguns familiares e amigos e adivinhem? Pensamentos sincronizados na mesma ideia.

Então é isso o que penso. Seria legal tirar umas férias coletivas, tipo uns 2 ou 4 anos de redes sociais, todo mundo ser banidos ou os servidores pegarem fogo e vejam só, todos redescobrindo que existe um mundo (real) aqui fora com um monte de coisas legais para podermos fazer. Seria incrível isso não?
