Have a good night everyone! This is my debut here in the @freecompliments community, after receiving an invitation from my friend @crazyphantombr, I will finally start sharing some of my stories and texts with you! It's a great honor to be invited to join a community that is growing more and more!

So, the story I would like to share with you is about what happened on the 14th and 15th of November, and here in Brazil, the 15th is a national holiday. Well, what happened was that on the night of the 14th my daughter started to have a very high fever, reaching 38.9 degrees and it was a very tense moment for me, because if there is something that leaves a father or a Mothers are apprehensive that something is happening to their children. That same night, I started giving her dipyrone and gave her a warm bath so the fever could go down a little.

At dawn, on the 15th, which was a holiday as mentioned, she still had a high fever, if I remember correctly it was somewhere around 38.4 degrees and even giving her dipyrone drops the fever did not go down. With my heart in my hand and concern in my mind, I decided to take her on the holiday. I still had resistance from my daughter who didn't want to go (she's 7 years old) and soon thought about more medicine or injections.

With all the calm in the world I could have at that moment, I talked to her and explained that her fever wasn't going down and that was dangerous, because, even though it might not be a problem, I don't like giving luck to bad luck, So, I decided to take her and, by explaining, I believe she understood better.

I took her to the doctor with my wife and left my other 11 year old son with my mother, I insisted on going into the office and explaining everything to the doctor, he looked at her mouth, throat, eyes, ears, everything and found that his throat was red, but there was no sign of an infection, perhaps it was just inflammation, but there was no way to know for sure at that moment. Then he gave some medicines that we could be buying and giving to my daughter.

When I got home I took care of her, I made her feel comfortable at home and I talked to her again and explained that it would be good for her to rest and everything, the next day she was already better, but I still decided to leave her in the care of the my wife and so she didn't go to school, on Friday, the 17th she was practically brand new and ready to go to school and get back to her routine.

Despite the large text explaining this whole story, the message I want to convey is that we must remain calm in complicated moments, so that we can act correctly, reason and see what the best course of action is. I could have despaired seeing my daughter with such a high fever, but instead, I tried to start performing gradual procedures, trying to solve the problem without having to go to the doctor, when I realized that it wouldn't work, I made the correct decision to taking her, even though it wasn't anything serious, but what if it was? Having my head in order to think made me aware of each part of the process.

So, for this week, let us be calm and lucid to think, to observe everything happening clearly and thus make the most correct decisions possible. If you have a problem, despair doesn't help, it only makes it worse, so take it easy and think wisely about all the possibilities.

Thank you very much to everyone who donated a little of their time to read. Until next time guys!

we must remain calm in complicated moments

Definitely true! In dutch we have a saying: 'kalmte kan je redden', when translated literally it means: 'calm can save you'.

It's a really good phrase, calm can save us in complicated moments, we just need to try to train it to use it when necessary. Thank you very much for the comment.

Seja bem vindo!

Family is one of the biggest concerns, it was very good that you were able to stay calm. I have seen people fall into a state of nervousness that prevents them from acting correctly.

That's the idea I conveyed with my story: with nervousness and lack of attention, we can make the situation worse, so we need to be calm even in complicated moments. Thinking clearly is essential to solving the problem.
