Pic1000 - Once a gold yield, now just a memory

Another thought provoking puzzled by @wakeupkitty . Wishing all Hiveans a warm evening. I could feel a portion of my place in this picture, especially, when the heat takes over the cold weather.

What I see:
Looks more like a field for agriculture purpose, with a storage house in the midst of the field. Lots of plants for cultivation are getting dried up due to shortage of water. While some of them are at the dried stage, few with a light green stem are in the process of drying up.

What I feel:
Due to sudden drought, the expected yield hasn't taken place. The field has dried up completely, maybe, by putting the farmers in trouble, as nobody seems to be around and the storage house remains still.

To begin with a story....Long ago,our place was ruled by a landlord whose main occupation was Agriculture. Agriculture in the form of Sugarcane, Sunflower and few millets. Being a wonderful person, he intended to input farmers from his own village, with the intention of creating jobs. The rains were also favorable to the people of the villagers.

This routine went on making the peoples of the village happy and content. And when the yield was above expectation, the landlord decided to build a store room admist the field and decide to give a portion of the yield to each farmer, every year. And the yield was sent to all cities, gradually this grew, resulting in high returns.

On my each visit for vacation, at my grandparent's place, I need to pass through this green fields . It was so enjoyable, walking and singing through this field. Years rolled by, the landlord became old and was not able to carry on this huge responsibility. So he entrusted the same, to his two sons who were jobless.

But they were lazy and knew nothing about farming. The farmers were kind enough to show them what exactly to be done like sowing, reaping and harvesting. And finally how it could reach the local markets. When the brothers learnt what to be done, they became greedy, especially when the income they received was beyond their imagination.

They stopped giving yields to the farmers even when it was in high rise. When the landlord came to know about this, he warned them not to take the anger of Almighty. But they ignored and the worst happened. Henceforth there wasn't in much rain which resulted in the ruin of crops.

Hope you enjoyed my fictional story. A bit lengthy I believe.
