Wednesday Walking on Hogden Road
For this week's #wednesdaywalk, I thought to take a walk along a country road called Hogden Road. THere isn't anything overly historic about the road. It's nestled int between coulees and bluffs and features a classic Wisconsin Driftless farmland area. A perfect place for a Wednesday walk.
The area features plenty of corn fields and hay bails. Barns, too, although I prefer the dilapidated ones to photograph if I can find them.
Even the clouds and skies were perfect today. With little to no cars on this tucked away corner of the world, the walk was easy enough. No worries on getting smoked by a vehicle as I did at the Mindoro Cut a few weeks ago.
There is a certain smell in the air on warm humid days here in Wisconsin. You can smells the farm animals, sure; you can also smell the hay and the fields...it's sort of a sweet smell. Mixed in within it all is the smell of wildflowers, invasive weeds, and barns. I'm most certain its not unique to Wisconsin, but it a smell you can find once you venture out some 10-15 minutes from urban areas
There are those Red Wing steel toes again! I've had to squeeze these walks on between locations at work. Both require steel toes, so getting those Scarpas on during the middle of the week can be tough.
Thanks for checking out my #wednesdaywalk...I hope everyone else had a wonderful Wednesday too. I've been lacking on Hive of late due to life but slowly trying to get back into my groove.
Until next week..have a wonderful rest of the week!
