a fractured facade

The machine shop giveth and then taketh...these three holes in a metal block...they were there one day, and then gone the next. I have no idea where they would have gone. Let alone what the utility of the block with holes was. Another machine shop mystery on the north side of La Crosse, Wisconsin. A mystery, indeed...I took this one the other day with my Google Pixel 7 Pro camera.
