Why I Love Martyr Ability and How Do I Use It Most Effectively? Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!

When Monsters with the Martyr Ability die, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats. Even though Monsters with Martyr Ability are not very effective in battles, they can bring great benefit to the team when they die, and I can say that they can be much more useful to the team when used with a good strategy. I can say that I really like the Martyr Ability because it can adapt to a lot of my strategies and it can greatly help me win many battles, even the toughest ones.

Especially when the Battle Rruleset has Noxious Fumes, Target Practice, Equal Opportunity, Earthquake or Explosive Weaponry Rulesets, I add at least one Monster with the Martyr Ability to my team without hesitation and put them in the most suitable position according to my strategy. Similarly, if I sense that there will be Monsters with the Snipe Ability, the Opportunity Ability, or the Blast Ability on the opposing team, I don't hesitate to add them to my team. In such battles, if I can team up with a good strategy, I can easily win many battles, even the most difficult ones, thanks to them. By the way, there are 6 monsters with the Martyr Ability in Splinterlands.

I'll share a few of my battles and strategies related to the Martyr Ability below, I hope you like them.

Rruleset

  • Noxious Fumes Rulset : All Monsters start the battle Poisoned.
  • Target Practice Rulset : All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.
  • Equal Opportunity Rulset : All Monsters have the Opportunity ability.
  • Earthquake Rulset : Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
  • Explosive Weaponry Rulset : All Monsters have the Blast ability.

Abilities

  • Martyr Ability : When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats.
  • Blast Ability : Does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster.
  • Opportunity Ability : Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.
  • Snipe Ability : Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.
  • Flying Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

Battle Ruleset
Unprotected
Briar Patch
Noxious Fumes
Only Earth and Dragon splinter can be used
Mana Cap 40

  • Unprotected Ruleset means Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs.
  • Briar Patch Ruleset means all Monsters have the Thorns ability.
  • Noxious Fumes Ruleset means all Monsters start the battle Poisoned.

MY STRATEGY

Since this battle has the Noxious Fumes ruleset, without hesitation I added Quora Towershead with the Heal Ability and the Bloodlust Ability to my team and put Fungus Flinger and Venari Marksrat with Martyr Ability to her left and right. And to keep them away from the first attack of the enemy monsters, I put them in suitable positions on the back line. Quora Towershead had both Heal and Bloodlust Abilities and there were 2 Monsters with Martyr Ability adjacent to her so I believed she would be quite effective in this battle.

  • Heal Ability : Restores a portion of the Monster's health each round.
  • Bloodlust Ability : This Monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Battle12.png

The battle lasted 5 rounds and to be honest the opposing player's strategy was also very good but my strategy worked much better and my team was able to win a really tough battle. At the end of the battle, only Quora Towershead was alive, and her attack powers, speed and health were remarkable. Meanwhile, Quora Towershead had 10 health at the end of the battle despite affliction being applied. Also, there were 2 Monsters with the Scavenger Ability on the opposing team. I recommend you to watch this wonderful and difficult battle from the battle link and you can see how effective the Martyr Ability is when used with a good strategy in such battles.

  • Affliction Ability : When a Monster with Affliction hits a target, it has a chance of applying Affliction on the target causing it to be unable to be healed.
  • Scavenger Ability : Gains 1 max health each time any monster dies.

BATTLE 2

Battle Ruleset
Weak Magic
Holy Protection
Target Practice
Only Water and Dragon splinter can be used
Mana Cap 34

  • Weak Magic Ruleset means Magic attacks hit Armor before reducing Health.
  • Holy Protection Ruleset means all Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.
  • Target Practice Ruleset means all Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.

Divine Shield Ability : The first time the Monster takes damage it is ignored.
Snipe Ability : Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.

MY STRATEGY

The battle had the Target Practice Ruleset so in this battle all Monsters would have the Snipe Ability and Monsters with the Snipe Ability will target enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position. By the way, I would like to point out that Melee Attack Monsters do not obey this rule so, Ranged and Magic Attack Monsters obey this rule. In this battle, I added Venari Marksrat with the Martyr Ability to my team and put it in second position. I've also added River Hellondale with the Resurrect Ability to my team. This meant that if my strategy worked well, Venari Marksrat would die twice in this battle, meaning monsters adjacent to it could get +1 to all stats twice.

  • Resurrect Ability : When a friendly Monster dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Battle22.png

Even though my team had the same attack power as the opposing team, my strategy in the battle worked very well, so my team won this battle quite easily. The battle lasted for 5 rounds, while all the monsters from the opposing team were destroyed, only Venari Marksrat from my team could be destroyed, the destruction of Venari Marksrat was already part of my strategy. I recommend you to watch this great battle from the battle link and you can see how effective Martyr Ability is when used with good strategy in such battles.

BATTLE 3

Battle3.png

Battle Ruleset
Earthquake
Heavy Hitters
Equal Opportunity
Only Fire, Water, Earth, Death and Dragon splinter can be used
Mana Cap 47

  • Earthquake Ruleset means non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
  • Heavy Hitters Ruleset means all Monsters have the Knock Out ability.
  • Equal Opportunity Ruleset means all Monsters have the Opportunity ability.

Knock Out Ability : Does double damage when attacking an enemy that is stunned.
Opportunity Ability : Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.

  • Flying Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

MY STRATEGY

Since this battle has the Earthquake ruleset, I prioritized using monsters with the Flying Ability in battle. Also, in this battle, all monsters would have the Opportunity Ability, which meant that all monsters would target monsters with the lowest health first. So in this battle, I used 2 Monsters with Martyr Ability and put them adjacent to Monsters with Flying Ability. Monsters with the Martyr Ability would still die at the start of the third round, even if they weren't the target of enemies. This meant that Monsters with the Flying Ability would get +1 to all their stats.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Battle32.png

It worked pretty well in my strategy in this battle, and my team was victorious against a pretty powerful team. The battle lasted 4 rounds. While all the monsters were destroyed, the two Dragons with the Flying Ability in my team were still alive. This battle also made it clear that when I can use the Martyr Ability with good strategy, it can be very useful to the team in certain battles. I recommend you to watch this wonderful and quite challenging battle from the battle link.

MY OPINION

The battles above make it clear how useful the Martyr Ability is to the team in certain battles when used with good strategy. That's why I love the Martyr Ability and use it in battles whenever I get the chance. It works especially very well against the battle ruleset and the abilities I mentioned above. Also, Martyr Ability adapts to many of my strategies, and thanks to Monsters with Martyr Ability, I can win certain battles and rather difficult battles much more easily. There are 6 Monsters with the Martyr Ability in Splinterlands. FIRECALLER, FUNGUS FLINGER, VENARI MARKSRAT have the Martyr Ability at level 1. NOA THE JUST at level 6, IZIAR at level 3 and VRUZ at level 5 have the Martyr Ability. I have all the cards, but I need to level up my NOA THE JUST, IZIAR and VRUZ cards, I hope to level them up as soon as possible. Because I really love this ability and it helps me a lot in winning certain battles.

What are your thoughts on the battles? I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.
