It's really hard to fight powerful teams. When I first started Splinterlands, I didn't want to be paired with powerful opponents, I was often afraid to fight against them and sometimes even chose to surrender. But as I learned to play and develop strategies, I learned that it is not difficult to beat powerful teams. Indeed, with a good strategy, it is possible to win many battles, even the toughest ones. I usually strategize according to the opponent, so I analyze the last 5 battles of the opponent well and if I can determine a good strategy according to the opponent, I will have a better chance of winning the battle no matter how powerful the opponent is. I will share with you a battle about it, I hope you like it.

Battle Ruleset
Super Sneak
Up to Eleven
Stampede
Mana Cap 38

  • Super Sneak rule means all Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability.
  • Up to Eleven rule means all Monsters have the Amplify ability.
  • Stampede rule means The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.

Sneak Ability : Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.
Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1.

Before Starting the Battle

Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player, I saw that the opposing player had quite powerful cards. I knew this battle was going to be pretty tough, and considering the battle ruleset, it seemed clear that it would make more sense to use Melee Attack Monsters in this battle, but with Melee Attack Monsters I had no chance to defeat the opposing team. So I had to come up with a different and better strategy.

My Strategy

First of all in this battle I should to put a monster in the last position that could evade Melee Attacks, I believed that Regal Peryton, who has the flying ability and is quite speed, could help me. But when I thought Regal Peryton would be the target of 5 monsters each round, she might not be able to deal with these attacks, so I put a Monster with the Martyr Ability right next to her. When the Monster with the Martyr Ability was destroyed, her stats would increase by +1, which meant that her speed and attack power would increase by +1. Thinking that it would be advantageous to put a Monster with the Camouflage Ability in the last position, I decided to put Djinn Biljka with the Camouflage Ability in the last position. Djinn Biljka with the Camouflage Ability would not be the target of attacks when he was in the back line. I also added Clockwork Aide with the Swiftness Ability to my team, thinking that adding a Monster with the Swiftness Ability would strengthen my strategy. Thanks to Clockwork Aide, the speed of all monsters on my team would increase by +1. And finally, I decided to put monsters with high health in the top two positions in my team. Frankly, I believed that with this strategy, I would have a better chance of winning this rather tough battle, and I decided to build my team with this strategy and adjusted the line-up of the monsters as follows.

LINE UP

Summoner : OBSIDIAN

In this battle, I planned to destroy the enemies with Magic Attack Monsters and chose Obsidian as the Summoner so that they could attack targets more powerfully. Obsidian is a Summoner that gives +1 Magic Attack to all friendly Magic Attack Monsters.

Position 1: TERRACEOUS GRUNT

Terraceous Grunt is a Monster in the Earth Unit that can attack the target with Melee Attacks. Terraceous Grunt has 2 Melee Attacks, 2 Speed, 11 Health, and the Dodge Ability at level 4. The main reason I chose Terraceous Grunt in this battle was that it has 11 health and Dodge Ability, so I put it in the first position on the team. I thought Terraceous Grunt would give the team an advantage if it could evade a few attacks. By the way Terraceous Grunt costs 6 mana and has 11 health, which I think is a huge advantage.

  • Dodge Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks.

Position 2: RUNEMANCER FLORRE

Runemancer Florre is a very powerful Monster in the Earth Unit that can attack the target with both Magic Attacks and Ranged Attacks. Runemancer Florre has 2 Magic Attacks, 2 Ranged Attacks, 4 Speed, 13 Health at level 4. The main reason I chose Runemancer Florre in this battle was because she has 13 health, and I put her in second position on the team.

Putting monsters with high health in the top two positions was part of my strategy.

Position 3: CLOCKWORK AIDE

Clockwork Aide is a Monster in a Neutral Unit with no attack power. Clockwork Aide has 8 armor, 1 Health, and the Swiftness Ability at level 2. I thought increasing the speed of the monsters on my team in this battle would give my team a huge advantage, so I added Clockwork Aide with the Swiftness Ability to my team and put it in the third position. Thanks to Clockwork Aide, the speed of all monsters on my team will increase by +1. Also, Clockwork Aide's 8 armor would have been an advantage, as I thought all monsters on the opposing team would be Melee Attackers.

  • Swiftness Ability : All friendly Monsters have increased Speed.

Position 4: REGAL PERYTON

Regal Peryton is a pretty fast Monster in the Earth Unit that can attack the target with Magic Attacks. Regal Peryton has 2 Magic Attacks, 6 Speed, 5 Health, and the Flying Ability at level 2. The most important reason why I chose Regal Peryton in this battle is that she is speedy and has the Flying Ability. Also, thanks to Clockwork Aide, Regal Peryton would have 7 speed in this battle. And after the Fungus Flinger was destroyed, she would have 8 speed. I thought that Melee Attack Monsters on the opposing team would have a hard time dealing damage to Regal Peryton in this battle, so I put her in fourth position.

  • Flying Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

Position 5: FUNGUS FLINGER

Fungus Flinger is a Monster in the Earth Unit that can attack the target with a Ranged Attack. Fungus Flinger has 1 Ranged Attack, 2 Speed, 4 Health, and the Martyr Ability at level 4. The most important reason I added Fungus Flinger to my team in this battle was because it had the Martyr Ability. I knew the Fungus Flinger would be destroyed very quickly, which was already part of my strategy. That's why I put it in the fifth position. When Fungus Flinger is destroyed because it has the Martyr Ability, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats. So, increasing Regal Peryton's and Djinn Biljka's stats by +1 was an important part of my strategy to win this battle. So the sooner the Fungus Flinger was destroyed, the better it would be for my strategy.

  • Martyr Ability : When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats.

Position 6: DJINN BILJKA

Djinn Biljka is a Monster in the Earth Unit that can attack the target with Magic Attacks. Djinn Biljka has 2 Magic Attacks, 1 Speed, 2 Health, and the Camouflage Ability and Void Ability at level 2. While Djinn Biljka only has 1 speed and 2 health is a huge disadvantage, having the Camouflage Ability is a huge advantage. Because he has the Camouflage Ability, he is not directly targeted by enemies while in the backline. But monsters with Blast and Scattershot Ability can ruin my whole strategy, so I hope there won't be Monsters with Blast and Scattershot Ability on the opposing team. The survival of Djinn Biljka until the end of the battele in this battele was very important for me to win the battele. I trusted him very much in his powerful attacks. I put Djinn Biljka in the last position.

  • Camouflage Ability : This Monster cannot be directly targeted for attacks unless it's in the first position.
  • Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Round 1

Battle Link

To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was flawless according to the rulesets of the battle. Indeed, the opposing team was very, very powerful compared to my deck. It was impossible for me to defeat such a team with Melee Attack and Ranged Attack Monsters. That's why I was wise to opt for Magic Attack Monsters.

In the first round, my team performed great by attacking the opposing team powerfully. and Fungus Flinger was easily destroyed in the first two attacks of enemies, this was already part of my strategy. Djinn Biljka and Regal Peryton's stats increased by +1 after Fungus Flinger was destroyed. Regal Peryton was unable to evade the first attack, but managed to evade the next two attacks.

Round 2

round2.png

While my team was attacking the opposing team powerfully, the opposing team had a very difficult time inflicting damage on Regal Peryton. In the second round, Regal Peryton gave a great performance by evading 4 attacks. But she could not evade an attack.

Round 3

round3.png

In the third round, the opposing team managed to destroy Regal Peryton, but it was too late for the opposing team. In the third round, 3 monsters from the opposing team were destroyed, while in my team only Regal Peryton was destroyed. Things were not going well for the opposing team, but my strategy was working pretty well.

Round 4

round4.png

I can honestly say I'm very surprised that Terraceous Grunt is still alive and has 6 health. Also, Djinn Biljka's very powerful and brutal attacks were truly admirable and helped a lot in destroying enemies. In the fourth round, there were 2 monsters left on the opposing team but Ever-Hungry Skull had only 1 health so it wasn't hard to destroy it. But since Cursed Windeku has the Heal Ability, it wouldn't be easy to destroy it. In such a battle, Terraceous Grunt was unlikely to survive against Cursed Windeku, so Cursed Windeku easily destroyed it.

Round 5

round5.png

In the fifth round, only Cursed Windeku was alive on the opposing team and it was also destroyed in the first two attacks. Honestly, I didn't expect to win this battle that easily, really my strategy worked pretty well and I still had 3 monsters alive on my team.

round52.png

The battle lasted only 5 rounds, my strategy worked quite well in this battle although the opposing team was very powerful, and while all the monsters in the opposing team were destroyed, 3 monsters were still alive in my team. This battle clearly shows how important it is to strategize according to the opposing team in battles. I recommend watching this great and challenging battle on video or battle link so you can see how effective strategy is in battles.

MY OPINION

I have always believed in the power of strategy in battle, so I attach great importance to strategy. I determine my strategy by reviewing the last 5 battles of the opponent and according to the battle ruleset, but I think it is more important to strategize according to the opponent to win the battle. Of course, it is very important to have a strong deck, but it is up to you to make the monsters more effective in battles with your strategies. That's why I never underestimate strategies, and before every battle, I do some thinking to set a good strategy. In this way, I can say that I can win many battles, even the most difficult ones.

What are your thoughts on battles? I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.
