Monsters with the Recharge Ability are the Killer of Powerful Strategies | Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!

SplinterlandsSocialMediaChallenge.png

The Recharge Ability is indeed a very powerful ability and can be very effective in battles. Monsters with the Recharge Ability attack every other round but does 3x damage. So when monsters with the Recharge Ability hit the target, it causes the target to take very serious damage, which can sometimes be a deadly attack. I would never hesitate to use the Recharge Ability, especially against monsters with high health and very difficult to destroy, because it is possible to destroy them thanks to the monsters with the Recharge Ability. Indeed some monsters are like immortal in battles especially Monsters with Last Stand Ability and Heal Ability are really hard to destroy but with the Recharge Ability it's not that hard to destroy them.

Today I shared with you one of my very challenging and very interesting battles, I hope you like it.

BATTLE

Battle Ruleset
Weak Magic
Keep Your Distance
Holy Protection
Mana Cap 36

  • Weak Magic rule means Magic attacks hit Armor before reducing Health.
  • Keep Your Distance rule means Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.
  • Holy Protection rule means all Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.

My Strategy

Before starting the battle, I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player and they had powerful cards, especially Scarred Llama Mage, Kron the Undying and Cornealus, which caught my attention because considering the ruleset of the battle, I was almost certain that the opposing player would prefer these cards.

Scarred Llama Mage is a very powerful summoner that gives +2 health and the Last Stand Ability to all friendly monsters, and cleanses all debuffs from the friendly Monster in the first position each round. Scarred Llama Mage and Monsters with the Heal Ability or the Thank Heal Ability are very powerful combos. These types of combos are really hard to beat so I knew this battle would be very tough. So I had to come up with a much better strategy in this battle.

  • Last Stand Ability : Gains increased stats if it's the only Monster on the team alive.
  • Heal Ability : Restores a portion of the Monster's health each round.
  • Thank Heal Ability : Restores a portion of the Monster in the first position's health each round.

Considering the ruleset of the battle, I didn't have many options to win this battle but I could win this battle with the Monster with Recharge Ability but one monster wouldn't be enough so I had to use 2 monsters with the Recharge Ability to win this battle. I thought ZYVAX VUUL and SUIDAE SHAMAN would help me win this battle and I determined my strategy accordingly. I was also aware that the line-up of the monsters in the team is very important in this battle, and I needed to put the Monsters with the Recharge Ability in the last positions.

Line Up

Summoner : DELWYN DRAGONSCALE

Since I will be teaming up with Magic Attack Monsters in this battle, I chose Delwyn Dragonscale as the Summoner so that they can attack more powerful. In particular, SUIDAE SHAMAN needed to attack the target more powerful according to my strategy. Delwyn Dragonscale gives +1 Magic Attack to all friendly Magic Attack Monsters, so the Magic Attack Monsters on my team can attack targets more powerfully.

Some time ago, Daria Dragonscale nearly lost her twin brother Delwyn to the Burn that had stricken so many of the scaled. She would have lost him completely, but at his deathbed she hired the services of a dark sorcerer who transferred his soul into a special Heliosoulstone. While he was suspended inside the stone, Daria traveled to the Earth Splinter, where she visited the Flesh Golems in the root of the Elder Tree. With their help, she created a new Golem from fleshy scraps. Delwyn’s soul was transferred into the new Golem, and Daria had her brother back… forever. Source

To be honest, the monsters I put in the top 4 positions were to stall the opposing team, I put them in positions according to their health.

Position 1 : REGAL PERYTON

Regal Peryton is a Monster with the Flying Ability and 6 health at level 2 that attacks the target with Magic Attack. The reason I put Regal Peryton in first position this battle was because Regal Peryton had 6 health. Also, Regal Peryton costs 5 mana.

  • Flying Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

They say there is nothing more beautiful than a Regal Peryton. They prefer to live in the mountains all across the Splinterlands, rarely seen by others. When they soar through the skies, the sunlight catches through their wings and creates rainbows underneath them. Regal Perytons are highly intelligent and consider themselves noble guardians of the natural world, using their magic to help others. Source

Position 2: SPIRIT HOARDER

Spirit Hoarder is a Monster with the Triage Ability and 3 health at level 1 that attacks the target with Magic Attack. Also, Spirit Hoarder costs 3 mana.

  • Triage Ability : Heals the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage.

When the Chaos Legion opened their portals to begin the invasion of Praetoria, the great vortexes tugged at the edges of time and space, drawing in matter from other realms. These portals were so powerful that other beings were dragged through against their will, snatched from their own worlds. And so it was that the Spirit Hoarder found itself walking the lands of Praetoria. No one truly knows where it originated from, but the consensus remains the same: They wish the Spirit Hoarder would return and no longer blight the Splinterlands with its wicked presence.

Described as almost dryad-like in its appearance by the few that have lived to tell the tale, the Spirit Hoarder is a faceless creature aside from two large, yellow eyes. Its body is a deep green with tributaries of aqua blue running through its skin, converging into jagged dorsal vertebrae along its back, and the uneven ruts of its head almost look like broken wood jutting away from the otherwise smooth and serene outline of its body. The alien appearance of this creature makes it difficult to tell where it resided on its home world, and it is likely at some point in evolution its habitat was in water, but now it is clear that it makes its home on solid ground and is completely terrestrial.

Granted, it is a docile looking creature, but the gnarled staff it carries, with branches twisted into a series of synchronised patterns, holds a sinister, spinning orb of power. It is a mystic force, the likes of which has never been seen before. This is the Vault of Spirit Hoarders and the one true source of its power. If one were to look at the orb closely enough, they would see the tormented spirits drifting inside, desperate to be free of the anguish prolonged by their eternal prison. What makes the Spirit Hoarder so utterly terrifying, though, is the indifference in which it stalks the land. The Spirit Hoarder cares not of the source of souls it takes, with both Praetorians and Chaos Legion having fallen victim to its obscene harvesting. Source

Position 3 : DJINN BILJKA

Djinn Biljka is a Monster with the Camouflage Ability, the Void Ability and 2 health at level 2 that attacks the target with Magic Attack. Also, Djinn Biljka costs 3 mana.

  • Camouflage Ability : This Monster cannot be targeted for attacks unless it's in the first position.
  • Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks.

Dawn of the Djinn 1 of 4 - The Thousand Year War before the Splintering never really ended. Dozens of Belludae (ancient demons of war) officers had been taken prisoner, but their fates had yet to be decided. Belludae sorcerers of such a high degree were notoriously difficult to kill, so other plans had to be made.

The most powerful and oldest of the Belludae could not simply be killed by any physical means. They are able to change forms and escape nearly any situation. Just a few years before the Splintering, an Efreet magical discovery made it possible for Belludae souls to be captured from unmoving Belludae bodies. The trick is to trap the Demon in an item of value. Some of the Belludae elite were placed in jeweled flasks, while others were locked in chests. They were trapped in lamps, vases, ornate boxes and urns. All these objects, once sealed, were placed in a secure vault underground, and a few weeks later, the Splintering happened. A massive schism split the vault into pieces, warping and dividing the land and carrying the Belludae soul containers to different locations. There the containers rested for nearly 900 years. Source

Position 4: MADCAP MAGUS

Madcap Magus is a Monster with the Scattershot Ability, the Life Leech Ability and 2 health at level 2 that attacks the target with Magic Attack. Also, Madcap Magus costs 4 mana.

  • Scattershot Ability : Ranged and Magic attacks hit a random enemy target.
  • Life Leech Ability : Monster's health increases each time it damages an enemy Monster's health in proportion to the damage dealt.

Madcap magi are wild mages of the myconids, a species of sentient, mobile mushrooms. Their magic is unpredictable, with oftentimes erratic and random effects.

While most practitioners of magic attempt to harness and control the elements, madcap magi believe this dampens the elements’ potential. Instead, they’ve learned to channel earth mana through their bodies and their staffs without restrictions, letting it run its course, come what may.

While this gives them a level of power unachievable by other magic users, it also sometimes fizzles out, backfires, or results in something entirely unexpected. Madcap magi are willing to accept the consequences, believing the rewards of unbridled magic outweigh the risks. Source

Position 5: ZYVAX VUUL

Zyvax Vuul is a very powerful Monster with the Flying Ability, the Recharge Ability, the Close Range Ability and 8 health at level 2 that attacks the target with Ranged Attacks. Also, Zyvax Vuul costs 8 mana. The main reason I added Zyvax Vuul to my team was because it has the Recharge Ability. It was also a huge advantage that Zyvax Vuul had the Close Range Ability. I trusted Zyvax Vuul a lot in this battle and thought it would play a big role in my winning this battle.

  • Flying Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Recharge Ability : This Monster attacks every other round but does 3x damage.
  • Close Range Ability : Monsters with the Close Range ability can perform ranged attacks from the first position.

Zyvax Vuul has dedicated his life to understanding the arcane, covering his body in potent sigils, golden runes that glow with power and feed him his unnatural strength and speed. It has been said that he his knowledge of dragon magic is rivalled by no other and he has been given the tile of ‘The Keeper of Dragons’, but rumour also circulates surrounding a voracious, cannibalistic appetite. Whatever the case, he is not only feared throughout Praetoria, but also within the Chaos Legion itself.

Those few that have witnessed him in combat describe a truly ferocious warrior that can fire his claws at the enemy, only for them to immediately regenerate, ready to tear into his opponents. Many a foe has made the mistake of closing down Zyvax to avoid his deadly volleys but have quickly found him even more lethal up close. Source

Position 6: SUIDAE SHAMAN

Suidae Shaman is a very powerful Monster with the Recharge Ability and 7 health at level 2 that attacks the target with Magic Attacks. Also, Suidae Shaman costs 8 mana. The main reason I added Suidae Shaman to my team was because she has the Recharge Ability. I knew that the Suidae Shaman could be very effective in this battle, she would deal 9 damage to the target in one hit, which would be a truly brutal and devastating attack. Suidae Shaman is powerful enough to destroy many monsters in one hit.

  • Recharge Ability : This Monster attacks every other round but does 3x damage.

The suidae are a race of boar-like humanoids that worship the gods of nature, praying to totems and statues erected in the image of their deities. Their shamans possess an innate ability to draw upon the elemental mana of earth and often serve as tribal leaders. They adorn themselves with the bones of creatures of tremendous strength and power, fashioning them into jewelry and armor through which they can channel their magic. These artifacts are passed from generation to generation, their power never fading. Source

Battle Comments

In this battle, I put monsters with the Recharge Ability in last positions to ensure they survive until the end of the battle. In particular, it would be very difficult to destroy the last remaining monster in the opposing team, so they had a big job in this battle. It is really difficult to resist their brutal and very powerful attacks.

To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was very good as I expected. It would be nearly impossible for me to defeat such a team without Monsters with the Recharge Ability.

battle10022023.png

The opposing team had Kron the Undying, one of the hard-to-destroy monsters in the first position. But it wouldn't be difficult for Suidae Shaman ve Zyvax Vuul to destroy Kron the Undying.

BattleGif1.gif

BattleGif2.gif

Suidae Shaman and Zyvax Vuul's attacks were truly brutal and they managed to destroy Kron the Undying from their first attack. It wasn't hard for them to destroy the other enemy monsters, but when Cornealus was the last monster left on the opposing team, it would be really hard to destroy it. But Suidae Shaman and Zyvax Vuul were there to destroy it.

BattleGif3.gif

Cornealus tried hard to survive, but was forced to succumb to the attacks of the Suidae Shaman and Zyvax Vuul.

I knew a battle like this would be difficult and long, and the battle lasted 21 rounds. My strategy worked quite well in this battle and Suidae Shaman and Zyvax Vuul put up a great fight in this battle and played a big role in my winning this battle. This battle was one of my most exciting and interesting battles in recent times and I am happy to have won such a battle. I recommend you to watch this wonderful and challenging struggle from the video or the battle link and you can see how effective the Recharge Ability is in battles.

My opinion

The Recharge Ability is a very powerful ability that can be very effective in battles, and I can say that it is much more effective when used with a good strategy. Thanks to Monsters with the Recharge Ability, I can win very difficult battles so I like this ability. Of course it is very important to have powerful decks to win battles, but I can say that strategy is much more important so I pay attention to strategy so I can win many battles, even the hardest ones. No matter how powerful the opposing teams is, it is not difficult to win the battle with a good strategy.

By the way, when I upgrade my Suidae Shaman card to level 4, she gains the Giant Killer Ability. Giant Killer Ability is a ability that can be very effective in such battles. If my Suidae Shaman card was level 4, she would attack Cornealus and Kron the Undying much more brutally. Also, when I upgrade my Zyvax Vuul card to level 4, it gains the Deathblow Ability. The level 4 Zyvax Vuul would attack Cornealus and Kron the Undying much more brutally. That's why I would love to upgrate my Zyvax Vuul and Suidae Shaman cards.

  • Giant Killer Ability : Does double damage against targets that cost 10 or more mana.
  • Deathblow Ability : This Monster does 2x damage if their target is the only Monster left on the enemy team.

What are your thoughts on the battle? I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.

Yeah, the fight is amazing. Looks like, at first glance, the other player has the advantage because of Scarred Llama and Kron's partnership, not to mention that Cornealus is a formidable enemy. I expect that theraphosa08 didn't anticipate that he/she will loose that battle.

That's right, at the beginning of the battle, it seems that the opposing team is closer to victory and more advantageous in this battle, but the great performance of monsters with the Recharge Ability almost changes the fate of the battle.

Recharge ability kind of boring and risky to me, You have to pass 2 rounds to get that heavy hit, but what if opponent monster have only 1/2 health left ?? it will be pretty wasted, but against high health monster maybe good. So its all about luck, Nice to see you pulled off that win Congrats.

Thank you for your informative and nice comment. I agree with you. The luck factor is definitely very important in battles.

Considering my deck, I had to take that risk to beat the opponent in this battle because I had no choice. When I consider other options, I thought I wouldn't be able to defeat Scarred Llama Mage and a Monster with the Heal Ability.
