BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge

RULESET: Earthquake

Description:

All non-flying units take 2 physical damage at the end of every turn.

Snared units are considered non-flying. Since the damage given is physical, it can be reduced to 1 if the unit has the shield ability. Click for More

In battles with the Earthquake Ruleset, Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round, so I base my strategy around Flying Monsters in this ruleset. Non-flying Monsters are very difficult to survive in the Earthquake Ruleset, but I never hesitate to add them in my line-up when I think they will help my strategy. Additionally, Monsters with the Snare Ability remove the flying ability of Flying monsters when attacking them. It is a great ability to disrupt the opponents' strategy.

I would like to say that my favorite units from the Earthquake Ruleset are Dragon, Life, Death, because I have many more cards with Flying Ability in these units. And my favorite card in this ruleset is Chaos Dragon because of its Blast Ability.

I will share one of my most interesting battles with the Earthquake ruleset, I hope you like it.

Battle Ruleset

  • Earthquake: Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
  • Silenced Summoners: Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.

MY STRATEGY

According to the battle's rulesets, Summoners would be silenced and Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round. Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player and considered the ruleset of the battle, it was very difficult for me to predict what kind of strategy the opposing player would team up with, so I had to consider every possibility to win this battle.

Since I believe that Chaos Dragon will help me greatly in winning this battle, I will add Chaos Dragon to my team and adjust my entire strategy accordingly. Although Chaos Dragon's cost of 14 mana is a big disadvantage for this battle, it is a dragon powerful enough to defeat its opponents alone. And I believed that if I could prevent it from being the first target of the enemies, that is, if I could make it survive until the end of the battle, I could destroy all the enemies with it.

I will also add 2 Monsters with the Martyr Ability and put them next to the Chaos Dragon, and when they die the Chaos Dragon will get +1 to all its stats twice. Frankly, the other Monsters I added to my team were purely to distract the opponent. My aim was to ensure that the Chaos Dragon was not the first target of the enemies, and I will add them to my lineup according to their abilities and health.

LINE UP

Summoner : QUIX THE DEVIOUS

Quix the Devious a Dragon Summoner that reduces the speed of all enemy monsters by -1 and reduces the ranged attack of all enemy ranged attack monsters by -1. However, Quix the Devious will not be able to do these because all summoners are silenced in this battle. The only reason I chose Quix the Devious was so I could add Chaos Dragon to my team.

Position 1: FUNGUS FIEND

Fungus Fiend is a Earth Monster that can attack the target with a Melee Attack. Since it costs 0 mana, I can say that I added Fungus Fiend to my team. And I put it in the first position.

Position 2: HILL GIANT

Hill Giant is an Earth Monster that can attack the target with Melee Attacks. I can say that I added Hill Giant to my team because it costs only 3 mana and has 8 health. And I put it in second position.

Position 3: VENARI MARKSRAT

Venari Marksrat is a Neutral Monster that can attack the target with a Ranged Attack and has Martyr Ability from level 1. I put Venari Marksrat in the third position next to Chaos Dragon. My goal was for Chaos Dragon to get +1 to all its stats after Venari Marksrat died.

Position 4: CHAOS DRAGON

Chaos Dragon is a Dragon that can attack the target with Maic Attacks and has Flying Ability, Scattershot Ability and Blast Ability at level 2. Chaos Dragon is a very powerful Dragon with very powerful abilities, and I added it to my team because I believe it will help me a lot in winning this battle. I knew that the other monsters on my team would be destroyed in the first two rounds or in the third round. My goal was to make sure Chaos Dragon wouldn't take damage until the other monsters on my team were destroyed, so I put it in fourth position.

  • Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Scattershot Ability : Ranged and Magic attacks hit a random enemy target.
  • Blast Ability : Does half damage (rounded up) to Units adjacent to the target Unit.

Position 5 : FUNGUS FLINGER

Fungus Flinger is a Earth Monster that can attack the target with a ranged attack and has Martyr Ability and Blind Ability at level 5. I put Fungus Flinger in the fifth position next to Chaos Dragon. My goal was for Chaos Dragon to get +1 to all its stats after Fungus Flinger died.

  • Martyr Ability : When this Unit dies, adjacent Units get +1 to all stats.
  • Blind Ability : All enemy Melee & Ranged attacks have a 15% higher chance of missing their target.

Position 6: MYCELIC MORPHOID

Mycelic Morphoid is an Earth Monster that can attack the target with a Melee Attack and has the Thorns Ability from level 3. Since Mycelic Morphoid only costs 1 mana, I can say that I added it to my team, but since it has the Thorns Ability and considering that the opposing team may have Sneak Monsters with Melee Attack, I put it last position.

  • Thorns Ability : When hit with a Melee attack, does 2 Melee damage back to the attacker.

BATTLE COMMENTS

You can watch the entire battle from the video or from the Battle Link

Round 1

To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was also very good, and there were 5 Monsters with Flying Ability in the opposing team, which was a really smart move. In my team, only Chaos Dragon had the Flying Ability, but I still had great confidence in Chaos Dragon because it is a Dragon powerful enough to destroy its opponents.

In the first round, the attacks of the opposing team's monsters were much more effective and they managed to destroy 2 monsters from my team, but Chaos Dragon's attack was very brutal and destroyed 2 monsters while allowing 3 monsters to take damage in an one hit. That's why I love Chaos Dragon so much, it really attacks the targets so brutally.

Round 2

In the second round too, the attacks of the opposing team's monsters were more effective and they destroyed two more monsters. Chaos Dragon destroyed yet another enemy, and after Venari Marksrat died, Chaos Dragon got +1 to all its stats and was now much more dangerous to its enemies.

Round 3

At the beginning of the third round, Fungus Flinger died due to the Earthquake Ruleset, which meant that Chaos Dragon got another +1 to all its stats. Chaos Dragon was now attacking much more brutally, and although it could not destroy any enemies in the third round, it caused serious damage to two enemies with high health.

At the end of the third round, only Chaos Dragon remained on my team, but 3 monsters on the opposing team were still alive, but this was no problem because my strategy worked exactly as I wanted and Chaos Dragon was powerful enough to destroy them all.

Round 4

At the beginning of the fourth round, Chaos Dragon destroyed Pelacor Deceiver while also causing Pallus to take 3 damage and Pallus missed Chaos Dragon. It was not easy to dodge the brutal attacks of the Chaos Dragon, which got +1 to all its stats twice, and to hit it anymore.

Round 5

At the beginning of the fifth round, Chaos Dragon also destroyed Pallus, and only Riftwing remained on the opposing team, but it had no attack power, which meant that my team won this battle.

Although the battle lasted a while since Riftwing had 13 health, Chaos Dragon destroyed it in the 8th round. And my team managed to win this very tough battle.

Although the battle had 28 mana, it was remarkable that it lasted 8 rounds, which showed that both the opponent player and I had very good strategies. However, my strategy worked much better and my team won this very tough battle. At the end of the battle, only Chaos Dragon remained in my team, but I already knew that it would happen because that was my strategy. My strategy was to have the Chaos Dragon get +1 to all its stats twice and have the Chaos Dragon survive until the end of the battle, and my strategy worked exactly as I wanted and as a result my team was able to win the battle. This battle was a battle that showed how effective using not only the Flying Ability but also other abilities can be in battles with the Earthquake ruleset. I recommend you to watch this very interesting and challenging battle from the Battle Link. I hope you will like it.

BATTLE RESULTS

Also, while I was writing this article, I made another battle with the Earthquake ruleset. If you have time and want to watch it, here is the battle link. Another bonus battle to set an example for the Life unit. here is the battle link. I like that battle has the Earthquake ruleset when at least one of the Death, Life, and Dragon units are available.
