Amazing Battle Against Level 3 Yodin Zaku in Close Range Ruleset | Splinterlands

In battles with the Close Range Ruleset, Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles, meaning all Ranged Attack Monsters can attack while in the first position. Ranged Attack Monsters are very powerful Monsters that can be effective in battles, and the fact that they can attack their targets in the first position makes them more effective in battles.

Yodin Zaku is undoubtedly most powerful and most effective Summoner in battles with the Close Range Ruleset. Yodin Zaku is a very powerful Summoner that grants +1 ranged attack to all ranged attack monsters and +1 health and Blast Ability to all friendly monsters. And when we consider that ranged attack monsters can attack in the first position, it becomes much more difficult to fight against Yodin Zaku. However, there is almost no summoner that cannot be defeated with a good strategy.

Today I will talk about one of my most interesting battles against the Level 3 Yodin Zaku with the Close Range Ruleset, I hope you like it.

• Lost Legendaries: Legendary Monsters may not be used in battles.
• Close Range: Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.
• Unprotected: Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs.

MY STRATEGY

According to the rulesets of the battle, in this battle, Legendary Monsters cannot be used, ranged attacks can be used in the first position, and monsters do not have any armor and do not receive armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs.

Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the recent 5 battles of the opposing player, I was almost sure that the opposing player would choose Level 3 Yodin Zaku as the Summoner in this battle. Frankly, this battle was going to be very difficult for me, so I had to determine a much better strategy to win this battle. I would like to say that I thought for more than 1 minute about what strategy I should determine before clicking the Create Team button.

I didn't have any card with the Reflection Shield Ability suitable for this battle, which was really a big deficiency for my team, but I have the level 6 Terraceous Grunt card, which was a great advantage for this battle. Also, I had no chance of winning this battle with Ranged Attack Monsters or Magic Attack Monsters, but I had a chance of winning this battle with Sneak Monsters, so I determined my strategy in this direction.

First of all, I chose Helios Matriarch as the Summoner because I believed that having high speed would give my team an advantage in this battle and I would use a Gladiator card.

In the first position I will put Terraceous Grunt with Return Fire Ability and Dodge Ability. And I will add 3 Monsters with Sneak Ability to my team. In particular, I will add Katrelba Gobson and Dhampir Infiltrator to my team, as I believe that those with the Double Strikte Ability can be more effective in this battle. Even though their health is low, they are power enough to destroy the opposing team when they get the opportunity. I believed that I would have a very good chance of winning this battle, especially if Katrelba Gobson found the opportunity to attack. The fact that Katrelba Gobson can't miss flying monsters is a really big advantage. And I will also use the Inspire Ability so that they can attack their targets more powerfully.

Summoner : HELIOS MATRIARCH

Helios Matriarch is a Dragon Summoner that grants +1 speed to all friendly monsters and allows the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle. I can say that I chose Helios Matriarch as the Summoner so that I could use the Katrelba Gobson card in this battle. Additionally, thanks to Helios Matriarch, all friendly monsters would have +1 speed, and I believed that having high speed would give my team an advantage in this battle.

Position 1: TERRACEOUS GRUNT

Terraceous Grunt is an Earth Monster that can attack the target with Melee attacks and has Dodge Ability and Return Fire Ability at level 6. The main reason I added Terraceous Grunt to my team was because it has the Return Fire Ability and 11 Health, so I put Terraceous Grunt in the first position.

• Dodge Ability : Has a 25% higher chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks.
• Return Fire Ability : When hit with a Ranged attack, Units with Return Fire will return half the damage (rounded up) back to their attacker.

Position 2: KRA'AR XOC

Kra'ar Xoc is a Dragon that has no attack power and has Scavenger Ability from level 1. Kra'ar Xoc is a monster card with 4 speed and 3 health that costs only 1 mana, so I can say that I added it to my team. And I put Kra'ar Xoc in the second position.

• Scavenger Ability : Gains 1 max health each time any unit dies.

Position 3: THANE NEWSONG

Thane Newsong is an Earth Monster that has no attack power and has Inspire Ability and Strengthen Ability at level 3. The most important reason why I added Thane Newsong to my team was that it has the Inspire Ability, and thanks to Thane Newsong, Melee Attack Monsters would be able to attack their targets more powerfully. Additionally, thanks to its Strengthen Ability, the health of all monsters in my team would increase by 1. And I put Thane Newsong in the third position because it has 8 health.

• Inspire Ability : Gives all friendly Units +1 Melee attack.
• Strengthen Ability : All friendly Units have their Health increased by 1.

Position 4: KATRELBA GOBSON

Katrelba Gobson is a Gladiator that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has the Bloodlust Ability, Sneak Ability, Double Strike Ability and Snare aBility at level 5. Katrelba Gobson is a really powerful Gladiator and can be very effective in battles, I would like to point out that she can help me a lot, especially in winning against powerful teams. I added her to my team because I believed that she would be very effective in this battle and could help me win. And I put her in the fourth position so that he wouldn't be the first target of the enemies, because if Katrelba Gobson was destroyed early in the battle, my entire strategy would be ruined and I would lose the battle.

• Bloodlust Ability : This Monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.
• Sneak Ability : Targets the last Unit on the enemy Team instead of the first Unit.
• Double Strike Ability : This unit attacks twice each round.
• Snare aBility : When attacking enemies with Flying, removes the Flying ability and cannot miss.

Position 5: DHAMPIR INFILTRATOR

Dhampir Infiltrator is a Dragon that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has Sneak Ability, Double Strike Ability and Cripple Ability at level 5. I can say that I added Dhampir Infiltrator to my team because Dhampir Infiltrator has both Double Strike and Sneak Ability. And I put Dhampir Infiltrator in the fifth position.

• Sneak Ability : Targets the last Unit on the enemy Team instead of the first Unit.
• Double Strike Ability : This unit attacks twice each round.
• Cripple Ability : Each time an enemy is hit by a Unit with Cripple it loses one max health.

Position 6: URAEUS

Uraeus is a Neutral Monster that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has Sneak Ability and Poison Ability at level 4. My main goal in this battle was to destroy the monsters on the opposing team, starting from the last position of the opposing team, so I added Uraeus too, who has the Sneak Ability, to my team and put Uraeus in the last position since it had 1 armor.

• Sneak Ability : Targets the last Unit on the enemy Team instead of the first Unit.
• Poison Ability : Attacks have a 50% chance to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied.

To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was very good and it was wise for the opposing player to choose Yodin Zaku in such a battle. Also, adding Monsters with Snipe Ability or Screenshot Ability to the team was a really smart move. Of course, having the Yodin Zaku card in such a battle is a great advantage, but when I reviewed the recent 5 battles of the opponent player, I predicted that he would choose Yodin Zaku as the summoner, which caused me to take this great advantage away from the opponent player. That's why I attach great importance to reviewing my opponents' recent battles before battles.

Round 1

In the first round, the opponent team had the speed advantage and the first two attacks were made by enemy monsters, and although they dealt serious damage, the back damage they took from Return Fire reduced their health. It's really hard to hit a monster like Spark Pixies, so it was annoying but normal for Dhampir Infiltrator to miss both of its attacks. However, since Katrelba Gobson has the Snare Ability, she did not miss Spark Pixies and destroyed it, plus she received +1 to all her stats for destroying it. Although the attacks of enemy monsters were more effective in the first round, the back damage they took from Return Fire greatly helped reduce their health and destroy them. At the end of the first round, 2 monsters from the opposing team were destroyed, while 3 monsters from my team were destroyed.

Round 2

In the second round, my team's speed superiority gave my team a great advantage and all of the enemies were destroyed before they had a chance to attack. And my team managed to win this very tough battle against a very powerful team.

Even though the battle cost 31 mana, it only lasted 2 rounds. At the end of the battle, while all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, 3 monsters on my team were alive. Frankly, although the opposing player's strategy was quite good and the opposing team was quite powerful, it was truly admirable that my team managed to win this battle. Frankly, all the monsters in my team did their job well, but Katrelba Gobson really did a great job and played a big role in me winning the battle. I can say that the speed factor also played a big role in this battle. Thanks to the Helios Matriarch, the fact that all monsters in my team had +1 speed came in handy in this battle.
