Abortion Is Health Care. Yay or Nay?

Being pregnant and knowing that you’d become a mother very soon is one of the best feeling ever but not for everyone. Some people are quite unfortunate to get pregnant for the wrong person or maybe before marriage and they decide to abort it. I feel they are not really to be blamed maybe because they don’t have enough funds to take care of the child but they feel the best thing to do is abort the pregnancy. That’s one of the basic reasons why people abort pregnancies.

Also, some people abort pregnancies because of their health. I’ve seen so many debates here and there about abortion. Some people believe that abortion is health care. I’m sure so many people may want to prove them wrong maybe because of the Bible since we all know that the Bible does not support abortion. What’s my take on this?

Is abortion health care?

How would you feel if I tell you yes? I know so many people will disagree with me but I want us to place the Bible aside if you really want to understand what I mean.

Firstly, as a pregnant woman, you have to understand and accept the fact that there will be so many things happening to you while you’re pregnant and body differs too but one thing I’m sure of is that there is no way you won’t fall sick while pregnant. Let me tell you a short story of my friend.

She got pregnant sometime ago and decided to give birth to the child. Unfortunately, she kept on falling sick for the whole of two months coupled with the fact that she was not able to eat anything. She was only able to take juice and the likes but not food. What give us energy? Food right? If a woman doesn’t eat, she won’t be able to push and give birth too the baby successfully because she doesn’t eat and doesn’t have energy to push the child out.
When your case is like this, why not abort the pregnancy instead of putting the future at risk?

Some women literally live in the hospital immediately they get to know that they are pregnant and leave after they had given birth. That’s a whole of nine months. It isn’t easy and people like those deal with anxiety, preeclampsia, anemia (depends on your body) coupled with the fact that they will continue to fall sick every now and then.

If you are the type who doesn’t really have issues while you’re pregnant, you gotta thank God and don’t blame people who go through a lot while they’re are pregnant. I pray to have my child someday too because there is no better joy than that but to me, abortion is health care and we need to understand that.

Thank you!

Agreed. Nobody knows another person's circumstances/health, so there can't be laws that apply to everyone limiting it. No one is getting an abortion on a whim like it's nothing. And frankly, if someone actually was the stereotype of whatever people imagine when they think people are getting abortions like candy ...would that person be a good parent? There are little to no supports once children are born, so if someone really is neglectful they'll likely be neglectful of the child as well, and nobody raging against abortion seems to ever consider the well being of the child after it's born. Frankly with some situations you have to consider if it's kinder to abort or let them be born into abuse and neglect.

I feel we never get to understand something better until we are in that position and that’s all I can say about those who feel they are against abortion no matter what happens

I am in the camp that nobody has a right to tell you what to do, but morally I do not believe in abortion, unless it is necessary in a medical situation, or the woman has been raped. Other than that, same thing I have told my kids, people need to own up to the consequences of their choices, so if you don't want a kid, keep it in your pants. But again, who am I, or anyone for that matter, to tell someone else what to do with their own body?

I strongly do not believe in abortion. However, I also believe that in such situations, no one has the right to make you do anything. But if we talk about a good relationship, just as getting pregnant is not the job of just one person, similarly deciding between abortion should also be mutual between two people.

Ooh yeah
It has to be a mutual agreement between the two parties

Not agreement but understanding. Agreement sounds legal but this matter is something very personal.

You've made crucial points. A lot of things happen to women during pregnancy. Some start battling with their health. It's a lot. This is why abortion usually seems like a way out, especially when they aren't ready.

Exactly my point
Abortion may be bad but we have to think about all of these things too

Abortion can be interpreted as the freedom exercised by a woman to have or not to have a desired child, moral issues and religious prejudices will have their own point of view on the subject. It is a subject of study in our modern societies.
