Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Challenge - Close Range

Hi splinterlands community, this is my entry to the battle mage secrets challenge for this week. This week I am writing about a battle I fought with the given ruleset.

Ruleset and Its Meaning

This ruleset is the close range ruleset which means that ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.

Summoner and Team Choices

I chose this earth summoner to grant my cards +1 magic attack.

My enemy selected this fire summoner (Tarsa) which gave its melee attacks +1 and all its cards +1 health.

Round 1

Before the battle started, my opponent's Gobalano Soldier ambushed my Regal Peryton and luckily for me missed its attack. I attacked my opponent's first card and reduced its health to 1. My opponent's torch Vizier killed my Venari Markstart which I had hoped would die early. I wanted it to die early because it would give my second card, Venari Knifer to attack with increased stats and also use its thorns.

Venari Knifer killed my opponent's first card. My opponent's ambush card attack again and missed its attack on Regal Peryton. Unfortunately, Tenyii striker reduced my Regal Peryton's health to 3. My healer, Goblin Psychic attacked and reduced my opponent's first card 's health to 1 and then my opponent's first card attacked my first card and got a return thorns damage of -1 shield.

Round 2

My Regal Peryton attacked first and killed my opponent's first card. It caused my opponent's Tenyii Striker to become the first card which I was happy with because Tenyii would no longer attack my Regal Peryton.

My Venari Knifer attacked next and reduced the health of Tenyii to 3 and my opponent's Torch Vizier killed my healer card. This time, Gobalano soldier did not miss his attack on my Regal Peryton but luckily, Tenyii missed his attack on my Venari Knifer.

Round 3

My Regal Peryton card attacked and reduced the health of Tenyii to 2 while my Venari Knifer's attack killed Tenyii. Torch Vizier became the first card and attacked my Venari Knifer reducing the health to 3 but not without receiving a thorns attack of -2 health. Yet again, Gobalano Soldier missed.
