Patiently Zinging: Anticipation for the Holozing Launch

It has been a month since I joined in on this train that we all now know as Holozing. A friend had just heard about it and the prospects tied to it, and so he reached out to me to discuss it. I wasn't much of a fan of blockchain games, but I was going to listen anyway since my friend wanted to talk about them. It was then that enlightenment happened.

I was only not a fan of blockchain games because I hadn't been able to get the hang of them, or at least tried to. After learning a bit about the game and how simply delegating to it can earn one some goodies, I was like, "Oh, yeah. I'm in!"

I went through the whitepaper as that was the most obvious place to learn about the game and understand what was happening, and then my interest in the game tripled. The whitepaper, the updates we get from the Holozing team, and the insights from everyone invested in the game keep me informed and excited about the train.

I wouldn't know what goes on in the background of everything or what it's like to be a game developer and designer, but I sure know how important it is to say things, keep to your word, and carry people along. It builds trust, fosters a sense of community, and enhances the overall gaming experience. Personally, I appreciate the effort the team has been making to acheive just what they said they'd do at the time.

It won't be long until the game is finally out for testing. For now, and like everyone else, I am doing what I can to stack up as many assets as I can. The ZING token is the only thing we're gathering for now. We have had creature reveals lately, and even most recently, we had the Healers revealed.

This game was inspired by the Pokemon franchise, but I couldn't help but feel the Avater: The Last Airbender vibes with the creature elements; it's only different as we have electric rather than air. I digress, however.

There are four ways to earn ZING. Stake ZING, delegate Hive Power, and provide liquidity in the ZING:SWAP.HIVE pool, or keep POSH in your wallet to earn ZING rewards. It's bizarre how there this many ways to earn ZING. I am only actively earning with three, as I haven't joined in to be a liquidity provider yet.

I started out with a 1000 HP delegation, but I have now tripled that, and I am now earning thrice the ZING I earned before with 3000 HP delegated to @zingtoken. I thought about POSH and how I was missing out in that regard. POSH is very solid—it has been for a long time—so why not earn some and consequentially earn ZING as well? I thought to myself and delegated some Hive Power to @poshtoken to earn POSH.

I earned 90 POSH over time, but I had to rethink and move my delegation. I wasn't earning much ZING as I had only a little POSH, so I thought to move it to @ZINGTOKEN to earn more. I will definitely reconsider POSH in the future. That's how I now have 3000 HP invested in Holozing.

Hold up! There is actually one more way to earn ZING, courtesy of the POSH initiative. Well, it'll only last for this month of December. All that one has to do is log in every day and claim their rewards, and they'll earn a little more than they should. It's a bonus, basically.

Sadly, I went AWOL on the first day and didn't login to claim my ZING rewards that would benefit from the bonus for the day. I was a bit bummed, but guess who hasn't missed it ever since?

I wonder if I would qualify for the surprise Zing amount by New Year, having missed one day. Nonetheless, I think it is such a generous thing that the team is doing to keep their prospective gamers excited about Holozing and giving out bonuses. Zanta came early this year, guys!

I think it is imperative for every person that's going to play the game when it launches to garner as much ZING as they can now. ZING is the game's main currency, and it is what would be used for many in-game activities, like buying cosmetics and entering tournaments.

Hopefully, the play testing will happen in the first quarter of 2024. By then, many players would have stacked up enough to get them through many of the necessities to thrive in-game.

Just recently, we had our healers revealed. It was thrilling to finally see them and to see how much effort is put into this game.

Essentially, the healers would have classes, each with their own unique cosmetic features. Unlike creatures, healers will gain XP much slower so that they can level up alongside their creatures.

For now, there are going to be Healers of the Forest, Ocean, and Light—male and female for each.

At first, I wondered why there were going to be male and female versions, as the reveal post hinted, since they would do exactly the same job for each category, but I got more clarity when I asked about it.

Apparently, it's just for visuals. They would be profile-pic-oriented, so people could just pick the gender they'd like. And players could trade them if they wanted, too. It is going to be a really cool thing to have on frontends like @peakd as verified owner badges proving that a user owns it.

I look forward to when this game will be launched so I can partake. There's a lot going on, more things to be revealed, and other works that we may not know about, but I'll patiently wait and gather as much as I can while I can. Hopefully, I will have a whole lot more than 4,200 ZING. Until then, I'll keep zinging...
