Mustapha lives in our hearts.

Hello, everyone.

I did not want to join the contest because it actually hurts to remember those memories while you try to put them down in writing. Reading through other users articles made me reconsider, and I realized it was necessary to share that he once lived amongst us but now only lives in our hearts and memories.

This week's topic takes us down memory lane with those we will never get to see again or hear their voice again. We can only reminisce and just smile about how they made us feel while they were with us and how they had an impact on our lives.

Mustapha lives on in our hearts; he was a young boy who was always happy and made sure all who hung around him put on a smiling face. Mustapha is not like other people who can stay angry for days while they wait for an apology for the pain you caused them; he gets over an issue in minutes, not minding if you apologized or not. You see him running back to play with you.

Even when angry about an issue, Mustapha just finds a way to make one laugh, and then the issue is resolved. Mustapha was so free and loved by all the kids in the neighborhood, including me; he was funny and jovial all the time. His dream was to go into comedy, which was good for him as he has what it takes to do so.

He was my childhood friend; we did almost everything together; we attended the same school. Whenever you see Mustapha, all you need to do is look closely; I am somewhere nearby. People who don't know us from home thought we were brothers but Mustapha is a Muslim while I am a Christian but one will never know and our parents accepted our friendship wholeheartedly, both parents treated us equally.

Writing this post made me remember his funny dance moves, he does not know how to dance but cannot help it whenever he hears music, he moves in a very funny way causing everyone around to burst into laughter.

We lost Mustapha about 11 years ago, he was electrocuted, I still remember how heavy my chest was when I heard the news, my eyes became teary and feet went cold. We miss him and appreciate the impact he made in our lives while he was with us.
