What things would you like to understand better? - Week #169

Hello friends, It's a beautiful Sunday morning, and I wish you all a great week ahead.

I will love to attend one of @galenkp's weekend engagement topics, which says, What things would you like to understand better?

If there is thing I would love to understand better and why, then it should be fashion designing skills. When I was 18 years old, I lived with one of my aunts for one year, who is a fashion designer. Each time she is working on different designs of clothes, she makes sure to put me through it. I learned just a little about fashion then, and it caught my interest, although I didn't bother developing the skill prior to gaining admission to the university. Of course, I later focused on my academics and forgot about the skill. Then, during my white wedding after school, I was gifted a manual sewing machine. I was like, Perhaps nature has a way of forcing me into learning this skill." I thought of selling the sewing machine I was gifted on my wedding day, but on second thought, I decided to keep it somewhere; perhaps I will figure out how to gain the understanding later. And so I began another learning of this skill last year with my coach.

Because of lots of things I am engaged in as a mom, I am not consistent with attending the learning for a faster understanding, but the little time I do attend, I make sure to pay closer attention to the tutoring.

Why I want this fashion design understanding is that it's a good skill that can give me extra income in our world today, where the economy is no longer friendly. It's also an opportunity for me to always design something for my kids and me without paying someone to do it. However, I must confess that the calculations involved in this skill are really complicated and confusing sometimes, but I plan to dedicate more time to learning all the tricks to getting it right.

Fashion designing is such kind of topic when someone talk about it, everything goes above my head. I know nothing about it and I feel bored when someone discuss about it😂.

However, I must confess that the calculations involved in this skill are really complicated and confusing sometimes,

I think nothing is easy but who practice continuously and focus on a single thing, it become easier to them.

Hehehe 😂... everyone has their areas of interest, unfortunately fashion designing is not for you

Exactly!!! The calculation is just something else plus loosing and re-doing the stitches can make me run mad.

I have also started learning little by little again though.

Wow, I didn't know you had interest in sewing, haha it is such a beautiful profession, see the calculations are not so hard, you just need to know the basics and you are good to handle even complex styles.

I can't wait to see your designs sis.

Although a while ago, you already started with the basics. It would be great if you could get started again. It would be a great skill to have.

I don't know how to sew or make clothes, although I like to draw, to design on paper, which I sometimes do just for fun. It would be nice to know how to make the clothing though. Maybe one day.

I hope you become successful on fashion designing, for me, designing is really a cool skills that anyone can have. Imagine creating something from your own idea, isn't that amazing? Anyways, you are already starting, you have the machine too, already, not it's a matter of time before you learn it all. So good luck on that

I love those who are into fashion designing because it's a good skill and they will always rock any style since it's what they know how to do. Nature has a way of bringing that skill to you, that was why you were gifted that sewing machine. You can always learn and understand better when you have the chance.

This reminds me of my grandpa who also designs and sews clothes. As much as I love to learn this life skill, but I always feel sleepy every time I start sewing. Haha. Though I love designing and making some drawing of the clothes, but sewing is not for me. haha.

It's great that you have this skill, your right you can earn income in this and also make clothes for your (future) kids.

Oh what a beautiful profession you have, you know! I think my daughter may possibly study that career, she is 7 years old and she spends her time drawing dresses and plays with colors in her own style, plus she has the influence of her paternal grandmother who has been teaching her to stitch and soon we will receive an antique sewing machine (from my husband's great grandmother) for me it is an honor to receive it and for my daughter to build her career from her ancestors.

I really love to acquire this skill too but the calculation always scare me. I still have a sewing machine in my house now but I can't do more than fixing losed clothes.
I still hope that one day I'll get the guts to go further.
