A Typical Day In My Life

The work of a mother is one of the most sacrificed and hard that a person can perform. I have always admired those warriors who work hard every day to have everything ready for their family, until I became a mom and am now a stay-at-home mom.

Everyone has a typical day in their lives, which represents the different tasks or activities for one's daily routine, and I will tell you in this post what my typical day as a stay-at-home mom looks like.

Motherhood reshaped my typical day from what it used to be during my singlehood days; however, I love the whole experience it presents to me, especially finding hive alongside earning and, at the same time, performing my motherhood roles diligently. So basically, the "cast of characters" that populate my daily life are my kids and, of course, the hive community.

The Event of My Typical Day

It's 5 a.m., beep! beep! beep! My alarm clock ⏰ rings continuously, waking me up from the world of my dreams. Oh, how I miss my early morning sleep since I became a mom. Most times, it's not easy to corperate with the the alarm, but knowing what my routine looks like in a day, I will forcefully open my sleepy eyes and do the needful; if not, my kids will miss their school bus, attracting extra work for me by taking them to school myself.

I will acknowledge having the privilege to wake up alive by saying my morning prayer first, appreciating my creator for the gift of a new day, after which I move to the kitchen to prepare the kids breakfast and lunch. I am that type of mom who loves preparing fresh food for the kids every morning before they leave for school. However, some of my friends see it as stress and have encouraged me to do it at night instead, but I prefer to take the stress for a more healthy lifestyle. Once I succeed in getting their breakfast and lunch ready, I will have their lunch packed in their lunch boxes, setting them aside while I wake them up to get ready for school. At 7 a.m. on the dot, the school bus picks them up, and I will be left to attend to my husband, fix his breakfast, and move on to other chores at home, especially laundry, which I prefer getting done early in the morning prior to embracing Hive.

My day cannot be complete without hive, after the first phase of fixing my home for the day. I will start exploring the blockchain , attending contests in different communities, engaging and adding knowledge to myself in the process. Finding my niche community and getting actively involved in their Discord server is something I don't miss each day. I try to do all of this as much as I can and take a nap in between until the evening when my kids return from school.

Having the kids home in the evening means another phase of my motherhood duties, leaving hive behind for the moment. I will quickly get them refreshed, and we will begin coaching them with their academic work for the day. I will try my best to give them much attention before getting back to do one or two things in Hive.

I do keep up with my activities in hive until my husband returns from work, when we have dinner together as a family, watch movies or chitchat, say our night prayers, and retire to bed. This routine continues unless during the holiday or weekend with little adjustments.

Here you have it—a typical day in the life of a stay-at-home mom like me. It's usually a day filled with a lot of activities. However, working remotely has so many advantages, one of which is having enough time to do what you want while still achieving your daily goals.
