Rejection is an experience we all face at some point in our lives. Whether in the workplace, social, love or family, rejection can have a significant impact on our self-esteem and emotional well-being. How we handle rejection can make the difference between coming out of the situation stronger or falling into a state of discouragement and frustration.

Personally, I have experienced both positive and negative rejection management at different times in my life. At times, I have been able to handle rejection constructively, using the experience as an opportunity to grow and learn. Through reflection and self-assessment, I have been able to identify areas for improvement and work on them to overcome rejection in a healthy and productive way.

On the other hand, I have also experienced dealing with rejection in a negative way, letting the situation affect me in a profound way and affecting my self-esteem and self-confidence. In these cases, rejection has had a negative impact on my emotional well-being, generating feelings of insecurity, anxiety and sadness.

Once I thought I was in love with a college classmate, I used to do everything she wanted and helped her in her university assignments, until one day I saw that she moved away from me and fell into the arms of another student with less intelligence than me but with better economic position, I felt devastated and rejected, I left at 10 am and with some classmates went to a liquor store that was very close to the university campus, I even lay down in front of a tree and I became friends with the drunks on the block.

The next day, the couple confronted me and told me that my roommate was just using me to do her college work and that her real boyfriend was copying it for her.

I felt vulnerable, unstable, mocked and hurt but I understood that it was not worth it to be hooked up with someone who did not value me and who only used me for her own benefit, plus she did not show me sincerity at any time and I had not realized it.

I started to become aware that I should love, value and respect myself, I also became convinced that I have many virtues and that I should put aside my negative thoughts.

Over the years I have learned that the way we handle rejection depends to a large extent on our attitude and perspective towards the situation. Accepting that rejection is a part of life and that it does not define our worth as a person is fundamental to overcoming it in a positive way. Instead of focusing on the opinion of others, it is important to focus on our personal growth and our own goals and values.

Managing rejection in a healthy and constructive way requires a process of self-awareness, acceptance and resilience. Learning to reject rejection, that is, to not let ourselves be carried away by the feelings of rejection and self-criticism that may arise, allows us to overcome difficult situations and emerge stronger from them.

This is my participation in the Weekend-Engagement topics: WEEK 194, suggested by @galenkp. Link Here

Just as you say, we can learn a lot from rejection, it is part of life and we must learn to deal with it and move on. It was very nice to read your wise words, greetings!

Thank you for visiting me, everything in life is learning, even those moments that tend to affect our mood. We must learn to manage these rejections and face them as intelligently as possible.

You are right many times rejection affects us in a greater way when we are in a low state of mind. In those moments we must appeal to our emotional intelligence before taking any decision in order to make it the right one. I also believe that it is possible to learn from those rejections. Thank you for visiting me.
