My Hive Year 2023

This week I decided to participate in the Hive Humpday Hangout on the Ecency Discord. This is a weekly show by @ph1102 where each Wednesday we discuss all things Hive and even there is a cool aftershow chat too.

It is a great place to meet other Hivers and if you have any Hive questions, there is usually somebody there who can answer it. This week we were looking back at our year on Hive and answered some questions.

After seeing @jesuslnrs and @palomap3 wrote a post with their thoughts, I thought it would be a good idea to write my thoughts and reflections on my year on Hive in a bit more detail. Luckily @ph1102 had some questions prepared that could help us here.

Did 2023 fulfill your expectations?

Yes. I had my goals that I was aiming to reach and I think that I met them. Some areas that I would like to improve on is quality of posts and this I have tried to improve in many areas and this will be some of my goals going forward.

What was the highlight of the year for you?

The highlight of the year was to reach 100k HP ahead of my goal by the end of the year.

Did you meet some new people and who were they?

I've met many new people this year, mainly through the Ecency discord or on chain. It is always fun to stumble across a great new post on Hive and make contact with fun and interesting Hivers. There have been so many people that I couldn't name them all.

Did you attend some IRL events with other Hivians?

I did consider to go to an IRL meetup but didn't make it in the end. I hope that I might attend an event in 2024!

Did your account grow?

Yes, I started the year with around 56k HP and currently have over 98k HP. I did not check my followers or anything too closely. As well as my Hive account, I have also been buying the odd new card in Splinterlands to help grow my account there.

What are the most interesting initiatives you participated in?

Some of the intitiatives that I have taken part in are some of the weekly cooking posts in the vegan community. I enjoy to prepare vegan food and this is fun to think of new recipes and to post them. I have also enjoyed doing the odd gardening or diy post too.

Did you go out of your comfort zone and how? Inspire others to do the same!

I do try to push myself to take better photos, learn new methods for better content and also with drawing and art to create my own digital media as much as possible. However, I am not sure that I step out of my comfort zone but maybe I might do that next year? Who knows.

What are your expectations for 2024?

I am looking forward to an exciting year ahead on Hive and although I want to push ahead in many areas, I also will probably not set any HP goals or such but more toward personal growth in improving my posting and creativity and that could mean posting less often but hopefully better posts.
