Purchasing New working Tool, Some major assets for my fashion design career and a step closer to fulfilling my dreams

Hello Hive

These are some of the little investments that matters alot which we often ignore. To be a seamstress in business one must start with some basic tools that will make work easy. Imagine if I had only a single straight sewing machine, I will be limited in so many ways with a lot of finishing jobs that may need to be done which I may not be able to attend to. Not having a neat finishing for your work really makes you a mediocre and no body wants to buy an outfit with seams and edges looking rough.

The list and number of working tools in the fashion design industry is so numerous and new working tools emerge everyday just to make work easier. You may not be able to buy
all the working tools for your field of work but some basic tools are essential and it is good to work hard towards getting those important ones so that work can be smooth and easy.

I made a list here of some of the items I needed as far back as in the year 2020. Although the vision looked very vague then and seems like I almost will not find my way into the fashion industry or pick career there successfully, I never gave up on my dreams and was willing to wait and pursue it no matter how long it takes.

Some of the items on the list with their current prices in naira).

  • An industrial sewing Machine √ (200k)

  • A manual sewing machine √ (70k)

  • A body form /mannequins (70k)

  • A grummet machine/cover button machine √ (20k)

  • A pearl setting machine √ (12k)

  • An industrial weaving machine (220k)

  • A wall standing Mirror (50k)

  • An industrial pressing iron

  • A zig-zag stitch machine √ (50k)

The current prices of these machines are overwhelming and inflation keeps moving the price forward.
The only way to beat inflation is to buy whatever we need immediately especially if the funds are available.

For instance I bought an industrial sewing machine in the year 2021, A two lion product was sold at 140k but today you need much more than 200k to buy the same machine. The same goes for the weaving machine.

The vision was indeed for an appointed time and you can see from the list the number of items I have ticked. Having experience too many setback and challenges quite enough for me to quit, I never gave up and has held on for 3years now, today I am happy and proud to tick a few more.

Every single steps takes me closer to achieving my dreams.
Having bought some of these machines
I am left with a brand name selection, a business registration process and creating a social media handle to advertise my work.
If all of these are in place, then I have such a good starting point.

Mind you all of these machines are an asset and if eventually I do not get to use them, someone else might find them helpful. It is never a waste to purchase new machines especially if they are new products that will last very long.
Machines can last for more than 20years with proper maintenance.

If you are starting to feel low that your visions are not actualizing, take me as an example and continue to push on, someday it will be worth it.

I had my last sewing machine for 48 years, so you are right 🙂.
Finding the initial outlay can be a struggle, but you are on your way.
