Freshly harvested potatoes, grown naturally without fertilizer and chemicals

Hello Farmers

IMG_20220809_094028_321.jpg

It is time to enjoy some farm foods and proceeds.
We know that there are various specie of potatoes, some called the Irish potatoes while this one is the sweet potatoes.
We mostly grow sweet potatoes in our farm

Imagine that potatoes can be grown to get as big as these without artificial fertilizer.
Using the best farming practice makes us achieve these results.

A good fertile sandy-loam soil I have here.
Our choice of planting potatoes comes from the numerous use we have of it foe food.

Most times potatoes is the first set of crops we harvest in our farm, we called it emergency food in our family, am sure you want to know why.

These potatoes take less than 2 months before maturity. Mostly after a farming season our food storage gets run out before the next harvest and since we don't buy major foodstuffs from the market, this becomes our first hunger attach... The first food we harvest from the farm.

We feed on this before the corn or any other crop is ready.

Daddy digs the soil to harvest potatoes.
Its easy to know which one is ripe in the ground.
Once the leave and shoot on the ground turns yellow, it means that the potatoes is ripe and ready for food.

The ones with green leaves aren't ready yet.

It is a careful digging to avoid causing breaking the tubers in pieces.

We boil potatoes and eat with sauce, frying it sometimes for breakfast and using it in preparing other meals...

Do you like potatoes?....

Who doesn't like potatoes? When they are served with beans, my oh my.
Do you know that potato leaves serves as a great meal for rabbits? Thru are such a delicacy. This harvest is great too. It appears that rodents did not pest on your farm.
Great homesteading here.

Look at the family of potato lovers, am already salivating on the beans and potatoes, sounds like a great combination.
Rabbits,... I keep rabbits too.
Never knew that can go for their food. I will try it on them.

Thanks for stopping by.
